[Jeongin]A smile spread over my face where I stood in the kitchen, it was almost dinner time and I'd just heard the entrance door open and close.
I turned my head away from the food for a moment, still wearing that same smile as I waited for Skye to come through the doorway.
And it seemed like I wasn't the only one who was excited to see her, because I heard the sound of little feet tapping against the floor and soon, Yoonbin appeared.
The boy stopped a few metres away from me, glancing up at me for a second before turning towards the sound as the floorboards creaked like usual when someone stepped on them.
And not even a second later, she was there.
Skye halted once she saw us both, not expecting to be met with two pairs of awaiting eyes, a fond smile stretching over her features.
She kneeled down to Yoonbin, who opened his arms to give her a big hug.
"Welcome back, auntie!" He said, doing a little happy wiggle in her arms. "Uppies?"
"Aww, thank you! You're so sweet~" Skye grinned at how cute the boy was being, adjusting her hold on him to pick him up into her arms before getting back up on her feet.
She then looked over at me, mumbling something to Yoonbin and earning a nod from him before approaching me.
I turned down the heat on the stovetop as the food on there was properly cooked now, putting down the cooking utensil in my hand to greet my girlfriend properly.
And since Yoonbin had said he was okay with it, I figured why not give her a little kiss.
I draped one arm around Skye's waist, leaning close for a moment. "Hi.." I mumbled, then closed the gap between us fully, slotting my lips against hers for just a moment.
She seemed to appreciate the kiss, melting into my touch, whispering back a little 'hi' as well.
"How was work?" I asked once I'd pulled back a bit, but my hand still rested on the dip of her back.
As I asked I saw her smile widen again, an excited spark lighting up her eyes.
"Well, work was just like usual, kind of busy. But.. something happened today, Innie." Skye said, kind of lowering her voice. "Near the end of my shift, I was working on restocking some shelves when someone approached me. I thought they were a customer, but actually it turned out that they were out scouting."
Hearing this, my eyes widened with hope, leaning a bit closer to her in anticipation. "Noona, were you..?"
She nodded, her smile turning into an excited grin. "Yeah. Apparently they'd seen one of my gigs at the usual place last weekend and had been trying to find me afterward but couldn't get in contact, and it was a coincidence that they saw me at the convenience store today. They told me their company was holding auditions soon and that I should come try out. They also said they'd reccomend me personally, which made me feel really happy.. I never thought I'd be the type anyone would want in their entertainment company, but hearing that they thought I would be a good fit boosted my confidence."
I couldn't stop smiling at the good news, leaning in to press another peck to her lips.
"That's so exciting, noona. You're going to go to the audition, right?"
She nodded softly. "Even though I'm not keeping my hopes up for passing it, I'm going to try. This is the best shot I'll have, so I need to take the opportunity. Besides, just going to the audition is super exciting for me, I love singing and I'd do it any time. But— I need to practice, and I'd really like it if you two would help me?"
