[Jeongin]It was the end of what had been one of the busiest weeks of my life, but even though I was tired, I felt happy.
It had been a bit of a journey learning how to live with a kid in the past few days, but I thought it was a fun experience so far, and it was so fulfilling to know that Yoonbin felt like he was safe with me and that he'd adapted so well to living here.
It gave me a real sense of purpose, taking care of a kid like this.
And today, I had something fun planned for him seeing as it was Sunday and we weren't going to the kindergarten today.
I was going to take him to a park with a playground, and then I was going to ask him to choose anything he wanted for dinner, even if that was actual dinner food or not.
Of course, I wasn't going to make it a habit to let him have anything for dinner, but doing it once for fun couldn't hurt.
Besides, I was slowly getting to know Yoonbin more and more, but I hadn't been so good at letting him interact with the outside world and people other than me and Skye except for at kindergarten, so I figured it was time to see how playing outside would go.
I was going to be close by, but not so close that I'd be helicoptering him, it was good for him to get some independence when playing.
But before we set off on our day out, I made sure to make a hearty lunch that would keep us full until dinner time, even though I'd definitely bring along snacks in case he'd get hungry before that time.
After lunch, it was time to get Yoonbin dressed for the day.
I picked him up and made him fly like an airplane all the way into the bedroom, dropping him carefully onto the bed before I went through his clothes to see what he was going to wear.
I made sure to keep in mind that it was still pretty chilly outside, and as I sat down next to Yoonbin, he looked up at me with a curious smile.
"What are we doin' today uncle?" He asked, he seemed to have realized that something was going to happen even though I hadn't told him anything yet.
"We're doing something really fun! Me and you are gonna go to a park, and play on a playground." I smiled back at him, taking his pyjamas off him to get him dressed.
The boy did a little excited bounce in the bed, stretching his arms up a bit to let me put his shirt on. "Fun! But, um.. Uncle, auntie Miah at kindergarten said can hurt if I play.."
"You could get hurt, but not if you're careful. If you need help getting up or down anywhere, uncle will be there to help so you don't get hurt, okay? It's going to be okay." I said reassuringly, getting Yoonbin to stand up so I could get him into pants too.
He then plopped back down on his butt and laid his feet in my lap, letting me put on his socks.
"Okay, uncle. Can bring a toy with me outside?"
"Sure, what toy are you bringing?"
Yoonbin slid down off the bed and motioned for me to follow as he exited the bedroom.
I did as he wanted, walking after him over to the couch.
I'd gave him a designated toy box, where he kept the few toys he had here when he wasn't playing with them, and I watched him dig through it for a second before pulling up a toy.
"I bring the sea turtle, please?"
Yoonbin was holding up a sea turtle toy, waddling towards me again.
I nodded with a smile, giving him a pat on the head. "Course you can, buddy. Now, uncle has to pack a couple of things for our day out, what do you want to do in the meantime?"
