In the distance, Pitch saw the elongated group of islets that quickly came closer, and he guided his Nightmare towards the closest of them, the South Islet, a place he had come to call home.
Would Frost like it there?
It was a tropical island, and Frost was, well... Jack Frost. His element was winter. A season that didn't exist on that island.
On the other hand, Frost had just said that he liked the warm...
Absently, Pitch reached up to touch his left shoulder. It was so much nicer when it was Frost touching him.

It was only moments later that his agitated Nightmare landed heavily in the sand, and Pitch jumped off before she got even more upset. He knew his Nightmares didn't enjoy this place because it was simply too bright for creatures of darkness, and he waved for her to disappear into the shadows of the trees.

Frost's landing was far lighter, and he laughed as soon as his feet touched the hot sand.

"I love this place! It's so warm and nice!" He ran down the sandy beach, towards the clear, blue water.

Pitch followed him, feeling as his strength slowly drained in the bright midday sun. If the potion wore off right now, he would be completely defenseless against Frost.

"I can't believe you live here!" Frost laughed brightly, running back towards him and pulling him into another kiss that immediately chased Pitch's dreary thoughts away.
It was another one of those short kisses that Pitch still hadn't quite figured out, but enjoyed very much.

"Where do you live?" Pitch asked, genuinely curious. It suddenly occurred to him that he knew absolutely nothing about Frost.

Frost shrugged as he laced their hands and they began walking along the water, as if they had done so a million times already. As if they weren't sworn enemies, but lovers. "I live on the Plateau... Theoretically seen..."

"Theoretically seen?" Pitch asked confused.

"Yeah... I put my old house there, but... I'm not there very often. I guess I just go there when I'm... hiding," he finished with a small smile and another shrug.

"Hiding from what?" Pitch was almost more confused than before.

Frost laughed, walking into the warm water of the lagoon that separated the many small islets from each other.

"From the Guardians when they try to make me work!" He grinned playfully.

To Pitch's great surprise, he had to laugh. It was an urge that kept getting harder to suppress the longer he spent with Frost.

"And where are you when you're not there?" Pitch pressed. If he already shared his private life with Frost, he also wanted to know about him.

Frost shrugged again. "I don't know... Wherever there's winter. I can't do much without cold." He looked around, raising his hand into the sun. "Like here. I'm no more powerful than a normal mortal in this heat!" Again, he laughed and smiled brightly. Clearly, he had no idea what valuable piece of information he had just given Pitch. Information that, yesterday, Pitch would have used against him, but today... Today he slowly guided them away from the water, towards the tree line where his house was located, because the last thing he wanted today was to harm Jack.

"That's your house?" Jack asked excitedly as Pitch's small hut came into view, and he broke into a run towards it, laughing in his typical, boyish fashion that Pitch was starting to love.

"What do you do when humans come here?"

Pitch shrugged, catching up with Jack who had paused in front of the hut. "They can't see me anyway, so it doesn't matter. Besides, humans here are rare. It's a very remote location so not many come here, and those that do, are usually scientists or nature lovers who just want to look at plants and animals."
