Seokjin had messed up many, many times in his life, but as Jungkook pushed by him and left him with a crumbled-up card— Hoseok and Jimin staring in disbelief— he really knew that he had messed up.He didn't mean to let this go on for so long in the first place, but what the fuck was he supposed to do?
When he put the pieces together that Jungkook was his online friend, he was upset just like Jungkook was now, but he thought so much about it that it drove him crazy.
There was more to Jungkook than he knew and he found that out through Bun. He liked that he had been learning about Jungkook without even meaning to in the first place. It felt better knowing that he had Bun so close to him.
Werewolves don't have soulmates that are chosen by fate. No. They have mates chosen by them and their wolves together. Seokjin knew that his wolf ached for Bun, who was so cute and kind and funny, yet not there with him. He wanted so badly for Bun to accept him with open arms.
But when his alpha realized that Bun was Jungkook was when Seokjin started to see it differently. He started to see the freshman differently.
Still... he knew that Jungkook wouldn't want him. He stood no chance with the bunny who stares daggers into him every time he's in the room, and rightfully so. There was no chance of having Bun in the end.
He tried to keep his wolf calm and collected.
The rude act wasn't so much of an act. Seokjin's wolf kept doing this, crying out for Jungkook— because he had agreed on a mate without even meaning to.
Seokjin had fucked it up, so every time his wolf went crazy with want, it would irritate Seokjin, and it so badly irritated him that he couldn't have Bun— Jungkook— too.
And he tried to hide behind the rude act as well. He knew that if he continued acting normally that Jungkook would never question whether he was Jwan or not. Tried to hide behind some ugly mask— the ugliest mask he could've chosen.
It didn't work.
It didn't work, and now Seokjin's alpha wouldn't stop whimpering inside of him to do something, to tell him the truth, to take Jungkook's words and throw them out, but he couldn't.
"You're the opposite of who I wanted you to be." That's what Jungkook had said to him. It hit him a little too heavy. So heavy that he was left staring at the floor in pure agony.
The alpha in him was howling to go get him, to keep and protect Jungkook, to go and get their mate— yeah, right. Mate.
Jungkook wasn't going to want him anyways. He knew that. He always knew that.
That didn't stop it from hurting.
"Hyung?"
Seokjin winced at Hoseok's voice for the first time ever. He huffed though, quickly backing away. He'd never been rejected so hard in his life and it hurt in so many ways possible. So weak by the simplest words.
Jungkook was upset with him. He had upset Jungkook. That's all it took.
Instead of answering the dog hybrid, he reached for the wadded card he had sent Jungkook and ran straight to the main door, huffing for air as he continued towards his dorm, ignoring the worried eyes of other wolves he'd see on the way.
Jungkook wasn't meant to find out. He wasn't, because Seokjin knew that this would happen if he did. He knew that Jungkook would hate him for everything he'd done. He wanted to be hidden behind Jwan and he failed.
Fuck.
