I was buzzing with excitement as I walked into the karaoke bar with my friends and Nick. It was our first night out together since we started dating and I couldn't wait to see Nick let loose and have some fun. As we walked in, I could see that Nick was nervous, his eyes darting around the room as if he was looking for a way out.

"Come on, Nick, let's do some karaoke!" I said, nudging him playfully.
"But... I can't sing," he replied, looking down at his feet.
"Nonsense," I said, grinning. "I've heard you sing in the shower, and you're amazing. Trust me, you'll be great."
Nick looked uncertain, but my friends joined in, encouraging him to give it a shot. Finally, he relented, and we headed over to the karaoke machine.
"What song do you want to sing?" I asked, scrolling through the list of options. Nick looked hesitant for a moment before finally settling on "Rocketman" by Elton John. I was surprised but thrilled – it was one of my favourite songs, and I knew Nick had the voice to pull it off. As the music started, Nick took a deep breath and began to sing. I watched in amazement as his voice filled the room, his eyes closed as he poured his heart into every word. The crowd was transfixed, and I could see that my friends were as impressed as I was.

"And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
'Til touchdown brings me 'round again to find
I'm not the man they think I am at home
Oh no no no, I'm a rocket man
Rocket man, burning out his fuse up here alone"

Nick's voice was strong and clear, his tone conveying the emotion of the song perfectly. As he hit the high notes, I could feel my heart swelling with pride and admiration. This was the Nick I knew – confident, talented, and utterly captivating. I couldn't resist teasing him a little, though."You know, Nick, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were trying to impress me with that performance," I said, grinning playfully.Nick laughed, a twinkle in his eye. "What can I say, Charlie? I've always been a bit of a show-off," he replied, winking at me.I couldn't help but grin from ear to ear. Nick looked over at me, a look of wonder on his face, and I knew that this was a moment we would both cherish forever."That was amazing, Nick," I said, taking his hand in mine. "You're such an incredible singer." Nick blushed, his eyes shining with happiness."Thanks, Charlie," he said, his smile lighting up his face. "I never thought I could do something like that.""Well, you just proved yourself wrong," I said, laughing. "You were the star of the show!"

Nick's friends came over, clapping him on the back and congratulating him on his performance. Even strangers in the audience were coming up to him, telling him how impressed they were with his singing.
As the night went on, we all took turns singing our favourite songs, but Nick's performance stood out. He had a natural talent for singing, and I felt lucky to have him in my life. As the night drew to a close, Nick and I walked out of the karaoke bar hand in hand, feeling closer than ever. We talked about his performance, reliving the moment and laughing at how nervous he had been before he got up on stage.
"I can't believe I did that," Nick said, shaking his head in disbelief. "I never thought I had it in me."
"You were amazing," I said, smiling at him. "I always knew you had it in you."
Nick leaned in and kissed me gently on the lips, and I felt my heart skip a beat. This was definitely a night to remember.

As we drove home, I couldn't stop thinking about how proud I was of Nick. He had faced his fears and put himself out there, and he had done it all for me. It was a small gesture, but it meant the world to me. When we got back to my apartment, Nick and I sat on the couch, cuddled up together, and talked about the night. We laughed about some of the other performances we had seen and reminisced about our own.
"I really had a great time tonight," Nick said, looking at me with a soft smile. "Thanks for pushing me to do that."
"Of course," I said, leaning in to kiss him. "I knew you could do it."
Nick wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer, if that's even possible. "I'm glad you believe in me," he said. "It means a lot."
"I'll always believe in you," I said, smiling up at him. This time It was nick who leaned in for a kiss, this one just a peck on the nose. As I fell asleep in Nick's embrace, Nick's singing ringing in my mind, I realized that this is only the beginning of a lifetime of memories, good and bad. I liked the thought of that.
