The Pact

CHAPTER ONE

Taylor climbed out of her car at the television studio where Jimmy Fallon was being recorded. The episode would air in four weeks time. She was instantly met with the flashing lights of cameras, snapping pictures of her, and the yelling of the paparazzi trying to get her to look in their direction so they could get their 'money shot'. She crossed the parking lot with her head down and her eyes focused on the black concrete. She heard a few voices call "Taylor, when's the new album dropping?" and "when will the new boyfriend appear?" She ignored them, pulling the door to the television studio open. She stepped inside and as the door swung closed she swore she heard someone yell "Taylor, when will you settle down and get married?". 'That isn't any of your business', Taylor thought to herself.

"Taylor, let's get you to the changing room." One of the staff members said upon seeing her.

Taylor nodded and followed the short black haired woman towards the dressing room. "Thank you." She said politely.

"Of course." The woman said softly.

Taylor stepped into the room and let the door swing closed beside her. She smiled upon seeing her stylist, Joseph and hair stylist, Jemma, and make-up artist, Daisy. "Hi." She said sweetly.

"Oh darling, let's get you all dressed up." Joseph said excitedly.

"I was actually thinking, and I don't mean to tell you how to do your job, that I could wear something casual but sophisticated." Taylor suggested, giving him a nervous smile as she stepped closer to him.

Joseph instantly smiled. "Whatever you would like." He said, moving over to the rack he brought full of different clothes. "It's all about whatever you feel comfortable wearing." He assured her.

Taylor stepped up beside him and looked at the rack of clothes. There were so many options. She was becoming a bit overwhelmed, but then that's why she had Joseph, she knew that he could help her make the decisions with little to no stress involved.

"Ah ha, what about this?" Joseph asked, pulling something off the rack.

Taylor surveyed the clothes. She reached out and took the material into her hand, it felt soft. "Perfect." She said, nodding her head.

Joseph grinned and they quickly moved about getting her changed.

Soon Taylor's hair and makeup were done and she was wearing the outfit Joseph had chosen for her. The entire time they made small talk about the weather and other things. Taylor had to keep herself from mentioning her quick trip to London to see Paramore, or rather, to see Hayley.

Taylor now found herself following the short black haired staff member towards the sound stage. She swallowed nervously. She always got a little nervous before interviews, she never knew what they were going to ask her. More often than not they asked her about her boyfriend, which she didn't have at that moment, or her music and sometimes they asked about her large group of famous friends she had developed over the years. Her stomach churned uneasily and she wished she had finished her breakfast before leaving the house, her stomach felt empty.

"Are you okay Miss Swift?" The short haired woman asked softly as they walked.

Taylor pushed a smile onto her face. "Yes, I'm fine, thank you." She said politely. She was trying to convince herself more than the woman.

The woman nodded her head and stopped just before the entrance to the stage.

Taylor cleared her throat and stopped behind the woman, looking at her. After a few moments, the woman motioned for her to enter the stage just as she heard Jimmy Fallon say, "and tonight's guest is a lovely woman whom many of you adore, please welcome, Taylor Swift." This was followed by the roar of the studio audience clapping and cheering. Taylor stepped onto the stage, greeted Jimmy by shaking his hand. He kissed her cheek delicately and she sat down in the chair beside his desk, giving the audience a wave and a sweet smile. "Taylor, it's so good to see you." Jimmy said with a smile as he leaned forward slightly against his desk.
