Tied

Chapter 21

Before going downstairs, Mia grabbed her tablet and released Gunner from his room and then once she was downstairs, she opened the door and let him out into the backyard. Matt followed her out and they sat on some of the chairs on the patio. They were chatting, not talking about anything special when Mia got the feeling again of being watched. She smiled at Matt and quietly asked if he had his phone, and when he said yes, she asked him to text Gavin and Grant that someone was watching again. He did so and soon after Gavin walked onto the patio and asked, "Anyone want something to drink?" He walked so that his back was to the yard, and then winked at Mia letting her know they knew. Mia said she would love a diet soda, and Matt agreed. Gavin smiled and walked back inside, and came back quickly with three cans of soda, but once he handed them out, he called to Gunner to bring his ball.

Gavin walked past the pool to the grassy area of the yard and began throwing the ball for Gunner. Moving slightly closer to the fence with every throw, purposely throwing the ball towards the fence until he was within a few feet of the fence. Suddenly he jumped the fence, Mia and Matt were both shocked at how fast he jumped up and was over the fence. Then they heard police sirens, Matt looked at Mia and asked, "Do you know how to get back where they are?" Mia shook her head and said, "Some of the neighbors have gates into that area or you have to go to the end of the street and there is an opening, but I don't know how good the paths are, I have not walked it in years." Before Matt could decide if he should go help them or not, Gavin and Grant were walking in through the gate.

Matt asked, "How did you two get back so quickly?" Grant nodded to the house next door and said, "Bill and Melissa have a gate in their back fence. I talked to them about me using it if needed, so they gave me the key to the locks for their front gate and the back gate." Mia asked, "Who was back there?" Gavin laughed and said, "A private detective that I know. He was paid to get pictures and dirt on Mia and Grant. Luckily, he was willing to hand over everything he had, if we did not press charges and paid his retainer fee." Grant excused himself for a moment and then came back and plugged a SD card into his computer. When he opened the folder, it was full of pictures, as they flipped through them, they were mainly of Mia, coming and going from work, at the grocery store, in the yard with Gunner, several of those were shot close to show her semi sheer shirt and nipple magnets. There were some photos of Grant leaving the house and coming and going from his office and entering and leaving the Purple Room and the Blue Bayou, but none from the Red Ropes.

Grant called Mark Mitchell and told him about the private investigator and asked about the restraining order. Mark told him it had been signed today, but there had not been any deputies to serve it, but he had worked out with one of the deputies to serve it the next day. Grant also explained the PI would continue to take pictures but would get approval before sending anything to Beverly, they wanted to make sure she got nothing that she could use. Mark told him he would call as soon as the order was served.

Gavin offered to order wings for them to eat while watching the rest of the ball game, everyone nodded in agreement and he asked what flavors, and Grant said, "Anything we are good." Gavin said, "How about lemon pepper, garlic Parmesan, and buffalo?" Everyone nodded and he placed the call, and Mia said, "I will go upstairs and wait for the delivery and fix a tray with drinks, anyone want anything in particular?"

After getting everyone's drink request, she went upstairs and pulled out some paper plates, napkins, sodas, glasses, and a large tray. She was in the process of getting an ice bucket when Matt entered the kitchen and hugged her. Mia laughed and said, "I am glad it all worked out for you." Matt nodded and said, "I am just sorry we did not get to play together; you looked super-hot. Not for me, but Gavin is bi, so I know he would have loved it." Mia smiled and said, "I am a little sad too, because for me I love watching men play together, not sure why but it always makes me hot." Matt laughed and said, "Well we will have to do it again soon. And after tomorrow we are only three doors down." Once the tray was ready with all the drinks and such, Matt carried it downstairs while Mia waited for the delivery person.
