Lisa can't belive she's doing this. Infact she's entirely not sure if this is even legal and is semi convinced she's actually in a messed up dream where she's crashing somebody's wedding.
She doesn't even belive in weddings and marriages and all that. The raven-haired girl thinks the whole affair is archaic and has no real place in the modern world there are a million and one ways to show someone your love. But that may be just her commitment issues talking.
Anyway, commitment issues or not, what she's about to do can't even be considered as as normal. Jisoo is going to own her a huge favour. She doesn't quite remember how the girl had successfully convinced her in making a complete ass of herself in some completely stranger's wedding. Well atleast she'll never have to see anyone at this wedding ever again. Hopefully.
Lisa met Jisoo a few years back in a bar where she was drunk and heart broken from her long-time girlfriends who was also her childhood best friend, who said we have grown apart lisa. And I've just fallen out of love. Whatever the fuck that means. And jisoo rescued her from some guys in the bar who were planning to take advantage of her. Since that day their crazy personalities mesh quite well and together they got in loads of troubles, wreaking havoc across manhattan.
So when lisa says she doesn't know how she roped into this whole mess, she actually is being dramatic. Jisoo had saved her more times than she can count. They literally would lay their lifes for each other. It it doesn't make the situation any less nerve-wracking however. She hopes it won't be all for naught and that jisoo will actual get her happy ending after all this mess will over.
One month ago, lisa had come home to jisoo who was freaking out about getting an invitation to the wedding of Jisoo's ultimate love, the one that made made her believe in love and happy endings, the one with whom she had shared all importance firsts of her life, the one that taught about genuine happiness, the one that-well you get the point. Losing their first loves were actually one of the things lisa and Jisoo bonded with.
Chaeyoung, as lisa has learned from her best friend's stories and pictures, is a flawless, ebony-skinned women with body of a goddess and actually look like straight out of magazines. She shared the same dreams with jisoo and they were both on track to go to law school before everything blew up in their faces.
Chaeyoung was adopted after her parents dies in a car accident when she was only three years old and her adoptive conservative family to put it succinctly. The girl had been able to keep her relationship with jisoo a secret from her parents all throughout the college, knowing their family won't approve of jisoo as she is a girl. The whole ordeal had constantly put a strain in their relationships, a persistent source of their disagreements and many nights were spent apart because of the stress it brought.
When chaeyoung's parents found out, this matter only became worse. Jisoo simply became too exhausted of fighting what she deemed was one-sided battle and chaeyoung felt that she own too much to her adoptive family, finding it difficult to fight for jisoo, untill it got to a point that they both decided they were better off without each other. That maybe they were trying too hard for something that simply isn't meant to be. They remained in contact with one another, though they rarely ever talked.
Almost after four years later and they still both carry the love they had or have for one another even after all this time. Jisoo had tirelessly thrown herself in law school, focusing all of her time and energy in hopes of forgetting about her ex, while chaeyoung eventually dated someone she met in law school herself- one that her parents approve of.
It wasn't untill she received the invitation that jisoo got the wakeup call of a lifetime. She figured that as a last resort, she would come to the wedding and tell chaeyoung she still loved her and if chaeyoung has truly moved on, then atleast she can tell herself she tried and then maybe she could move on too.
And if she hadn't moved on than, well, jisoo figures they're both a little bit older and little bit wiser and maybe they can try again. She'll fight harder this time, bear both of their weights if she found out chaeyoung is still afraid to fight for her. She'd fight for the both of them if she had to.
The plan was that lisa was gonna go as jisoo's moral support as she fought for the love of her life. She was gonna be there to provide the tissues and booze to console her best friend I'd chaeyoung turns her down or supply getaway car if by some miracle, chaeyoung actually runs away with her.
That was the plan. Untill the universe decides to throw a wrench into said plan. Jisoo was planning to fly back to new York, where the wedding is being held after visiting her family in california, but her flight was shut down for few hours long enough to miss the wedding and maybe reception.
Which now brings us to the present, with lisa sitting amongst the crowd of chaeyoung's wedding guests, while they all wait in anticipation (lisa with more anxiety than the rest of the crowd) for the bride. She really should have approached chaeyoung before the actual ceremony, regardless of how challenging that might have been, she should have tried instead of waiting of the actual ceremony to stop the wedding where everyone that's ever been important to chaeyoung's life will undoubtedly see her make a fool of herself.
But alas she's always been an excellent procrastinator, so now she has no choice but to make a scene. She looks around and admits to herself that it really is a nice wedding.
The venue is in what looks like a modern yet historical and it's industrial atmosphere is breathtaking. The flowers and curtains designed make it feel luxury with so many expensive designs around the walls with all types of flowers screams elegance.
Lisa takes a deep breath as she takes it all in and tries not to think how the consequences of her future actions. She looks at the groom and he seems harmless and confident. Considering chaeyoung met him in law school, he seems to be intelligent. Lisa takes comfort in the fact that if chaeyoung leaves him, he would be fine and not send someone to beat her for ruining his wedding and maybe he'll find someone else who aren't hung up on their exes.
Lisa's attention is brought back to the hall where the doors starts to open slowly along with wedding trumpet starts playing and chaeyoung appears in her wedding sleeveless dress looking absolutely stunning and lisa has a passing thought of how jisoo ever let somebody like her slip through her fingers.
She walks down the asile with her father grace looking like a real-life Princess and finally gets to the front and accepts her hand of the groom with small smile and lisa starts to mentally prepare herself. As the ceremony progress on, her heart beat start to pick up, her breathing starts to irregular and she's bouncing on her legs. She starts to panic because when exactly is the right time for her to speak?
She looks around the place to calm herself a bit and her gaze falls on a slender brunette standing amongst the bridesmaids. She's is wearing a blush-coloured sleeveless floor-length with a slight plunging neckline.the Seathwaite silhouette and silky touch of the dress perfectly cater to the contours of her curves, highlighting the unmistakable shape of her butt. Her luscious hair, which looks golden-brown under the sun, falls in gentle waves down her shoulders. There is small smile adorning her soft facial features, sparkling brown eyes bright under the long lashes.
Lisa's breath is caught in her throat at the girl's beauty, the simplicity of her essence loud and clear to anyone who dares to pay attention. She shallows hard and swings her attention back to the ceremony and tries to focus on why she was here in first place.
Back to the question when is she supposed to speak?
Oh God, this whole ceremony is gonna pass by without me saying anything and jisoo is gonna be so disappointed and I might lose my only friend in all of this.
"....if anyone can show just why this couple cannot be lawfully joined in matrimony, let them speak now or forever hold their peace." The priest declares.
This is it. Chaeyoung's fate lies in her hands now. With a last intake of breath as she shuts her eyes tightly and stands abruptly, raising her hand and yells out. "I object!"
