Minji's POV
Today is the biggest fashion show in Seoul and I'm part of it. I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. This time, it's going to be different because she will be witnessing me walk on the runway.
I looked at myself in the mirror, and saw that my make-up was almost finished. I couldn't help but admire myself.
A question popped in my head. Did we break up or not? Do I need to court her or just continue our relationship before? The thorns in my chest are gone because she gave me a chance to explain and I want to take her on a date to clarify things. I want to take her where she always brings me before where we can feel freedom and relaxation.
As the staff cued us to get ready, I composed myself and stood up. I was tall in these pair of heels, and I felt confident. It's now my turn to walk on the runway. I walked elegantly and showed my fiercest face. I was looking for her, but the staff signaled me to stop moving my head. I lost my concentration, and it was a good thing that I managed to finish the walk without falling.
This was my last outfit, and I still couldn't see her. Then, the woman that I'm finding caught my eye. She was smiling brightly, you're so beautiful, Hanni. It was hard because the camera lights were about to blind me. She was beside a man, and he whispered something in her ear. I could feel my jealousy consuming me, but I continued to walk until I reached the end
As I stood backstage, catching my breath after my walk, Hanni approached me and that man still following her. Is he her bodyguard? Her stalker?
"I love your walk, good job" she complimented me. Her smile lighting up the dimly-lit area. I felt a rush of joy at her words. Her praise meant everything to me.
But my happiness was short-lived as I noticed the man still hovering behind her.
"Who's he?" I couldn't help but blurt out. Hanni hesitated for a moment before replying
"He's Jay, my friend." I couldn't help but notice the way Jay looked at Hanni with an intensity that made my stomach churn.
"Nice to meet you" Jay offered his hand for a handshake and I accepted, squeezing it a little too hard. I felt a twinge of guilt as I saw the momentary pain on his face.
"Nice to meet you too" I said, my fake smile plastered on my face.
As we began to walk, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled inside me. I didn't want to see Hanni with another man, especially not one who seemed so possessive and creepy.
"Let's eat, Hanni" Jay said, his voice high-pitched and childlike. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his childish antics.
"Let's go, Minji" Hanni said, taking my hand in hers and intertwining our fingers. It was a small gesture, but it made my heart skip a beat.
As we walked, I whisper something in her ear.
"Why is he with us?" My jealousy was getting the best of me, and I knew it was irrational, but I couldn't help it.
"He's the son of our CEO. He'll leave later" Hanni replied, her voice soothing and calm. I nodded, trying to push my jealousy aside and enjoy the moment with her.
But deep down, I couldn't help but wonder. Was I just being jealous, or was there something more going on between Hanni and Jay? I shook my head trying to avoid those kind of thoughts.
" Stop overthinking" Did she just read my mind??
" How did you know?"
" It's obvious, stop frowning and enjoy your food" she said and tapped my nose slightly.
" Are you free later?"
" I'm always free for you" this girl is so cheesy but deep inside, every lines she say melts me.
" ehem" the man in front of us did a fake cough. Why do he need to interrupt us
" What are you two talking about, can I join?"
" nothing" Hanni replied as I could sense that she's a little bit irritated.
