Hanni's POV
" I like you" did he really say that he likes me? Or do I need to clean my ear?
" What??" I asked in disbelief.
" I said, I like you" he repeated emphasizing the word 'like'
" I'm sorry" I said, wait. Why do I have to apologize in the first place?
" From the first time I saw you back in college"
" What do you mean?"
"When I first saw you, I was immediately struck by your beauty and charm. I made an effort to get closer to you, but although it hurts, I find joy in seeing you happy. I thought I had a chance with you when she left you" I was about to shut him up, I could feel my anger rising inside me but he continued
" Your mother kept contacting me, telling that I should watch you closely. I regret that I followed her because my feelings grew stronger. I could see your eyes sparkling when you saw her. I couldn't feel any worst feeling than by not being able to call you mine" I could feel the pain in his voice.
" I don't feel the same way, Jay. I love her..... I love her more than anything else"
" I understand, I should've distanced myself to you. I'm sorry" he said walking out to my space.
I was taken aback by his confession, as I had assumed that he only wanted to be friends. However, I am open to the idea of friendship if he is still interested, although I don't believe it would be possible at the moment.
Right now, I want to focus on someone else. Speaking of her, I noticed her outside our building carrying food. We decided to go to the canteen together inside our company.
"This is sooo delicious" I exclaimed as I savored every bite.
"My mother and I prepared it especially for you" she said, her face turning a deep shade of red. Awww so sweet
"Yo-your mom? That's very kind of her" I stuttered, surprised that her mother would take the time to cook for me.
"Yes, we both miss cooking, so we thought we'd make something for you" she replied, gently wiping a crumb from the corner of my mouth.
"They would like to meet you" she added. My heart started pounding, and I couldn't help but wonder if her father are still against us.
"What if your father punches me?" I asked, feeling a little nervous.
She let out a cute laugh, and I couldn't help but notice the twinkle in her eyes. I can barely see it.
"Don't worry. He won't lay a finger on you. Just be yourself" she said, reassuringly.
.
"Let's go to the mall, I wanna buy some new clothes. I want to look presentable when I meet your parents" I suggested to Minji
"You just recently bought clothes" she replied, confusing me.
"I knew it, you're that girl. You're so annoying. You turn your back on me. I hate you" I pouted like a child.
"You don't know how much I wanted to talk to you when I saw you at the store. I just can't because my fear always wins" she said, and I suddenly felt guilty for my previous outburst.
"Do I look scary?" I asked, trying to gauge her reaction. There she goes again with her eye smile. It's my weakness.
"No, no, it's the situation itself. You're a cute little human. You'll never look scary," she reassured me. Was I really that small?
