Hanni's POV
As I sat across from her, I couldn't ignore the tension that hung thick in the air. My heart was pounding in my chest, and I couldn't help but feel nervous about what she was going to say. Her hands were fidgeting, and she kept scratching her nape.
"Take it slow" I said, trying to comfort her with a gentle smile. She took a deep breath and began to speak, her words slow and measured.
"It's hard to explain what happened, why I left suddenly. But you were always a part of me during those days that I had to fight on my own..." I could feel the energy in the room shift to one of sadness.
"I couldn't bear seeing you dragged down by our family's problems. My father is against our relationship, which is why I kept telling you he was always busy. I knew he couldn't accept us...
and then there was my mother's health. I had to go to the US with her. I had to take care of her. I'm sorry for not explaining everything sooner. I love you both and I'm sorry for being coward"
She bleed as much as I do. I want to give her the biggest comfort that I could.
Tears welled up in her eyes, and I could see the fear and doubt etched on her face. I am at a loss for words as to how to describe the overwhelming emotions that are coursing through my veins at this moment But I'm very much proud of her for choosing her mom over me. I could wait for her even if it takes forever because she did the right decision.
"You don't have to apologize" I said softly.
"I understand how difficult this must have been for you. From now on, we're on in this together."
She smiled through her tears, and I took her hand in mine
"I'll be stronger because I know you've become stronger on your own...
I hope you'll still accept me" she said
"Of course, I'll accept you" I said, looking deeply into her eyes.
" And thank you for being brave" I added
As I look into her tear-stained face, I gently caress her cheek and wipe away the tears that are visible on it. I pull her close into a tight embrace, holding her tightly in my arms.
They say that hugs are the most healing thing, and I can feel the truth of that statement as I hold her close to me. She hugs me back, and I can feel the weight of her sorrow and pain in her embrace.
In this moment, I know that my Minji is the bravest person I have ever met. She is putting her family first, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness in the process.
" I look like a kid crying here" she said while wiping her tears, she's laughing softly while looking at her own reflection at the mirror.
" No, it's okay to cry. You'll feel much better after that" I reassured her
" Thank you, My Hanni. I'll fulfill every day that I'm not by your side"
" No need, just knowing that you're safe and You're here in front me already fills the days that I'm longing for you.
Stay there, I'll cook for you, my crybaby"
" Stop, teasing me" she whines like a kid. Cute
" I'm just kidding"
" I want to watch you cooking" She said delightfully
" you'll fall harder" I joked
" I already did" then she winked. My goodness she got me there. I want treasure every moment with her just like what I did before.
" Does your father still against us?" I asked while preparing the ingredients for her favorite food
" Let's not talk about him"
" Hmm okay"
While I'm busy here cooking, she starts to play a song. I think it's title is "until I found you" the lyrics is interesting.
I would never fall in love again until I found her~
I said, "I would never fall unless it's you I fall into"~
I was lost within the darkness, but then I found her~
I found you~The lyrics suits us. I can't imagine myself loving someone else other than her. She became my light in this world of darkness. She completes me in the way I never thought were possible.
