Of Fake Smiles and Broken Hearts

Note: Just wanted to say that this might end soon. Maybe we'll go until chapter twenty and then that's it. I'm just making it longer (that explains the short updates?) to prepare myself from what'll happen next lol.

Warning (not really): Short update (nothing new). Like, really short.

Kyungsoo stood in front of the mirror, eyes wide in disbelief as he stares at his reflection. His hazel brown eyes and flustered cheeks weren't out of the norm. He meets Baekhyun's gaze through the mirror, eyes glinting in mischief and amusement as he stares at Kyungsoo. Some of the people around them blatantly stares.

"I think I have a crush on you, Kyungsoo." Baekhyun admits. The said male turns around and runs his fingers through his hair, smiling cheekily. "Jongin would love your look."

Kyungsoo feels the familiar fluttering in his stomach. His chest aches—in a good way. The slight twinge from your upper abdomen that travels up your chest whenever you're anxious. He looks down, fighting the strong urge to smile but he fails and ends up smiling widely. The thought of Jongin brings him mixed emotions. Pain is still there, but the happiness goes up the meter. He looks at the door and expects him to burst inside, but it didn't happen, of course.

Is this the feeling of being in love?

The idea is certainly not new to him. But the feeling is still foreign every time. No one can really explain the feeling. It makes you jittery and everything reminds you of him. It's not just a spark of admiration—it's something else, something that lasts long. So, maybe, the idea of falling in love is appealing to everyone because they want to know how it also feels and how it feels to be loved back. Some people might say that they already know the feeling of falling in love. But every time there's another person that may give you that same feeling, it's not just like the last one.

It's always a new feeling, a new experience.

"Smile, Kyungsoo." Baekhyun says as they walk out of the place. "You deserve to be happy."

Kyungsoo might say that he'd been smiling for most part of his life just for the show. Because if he didn't smile, he'll frown and he's afraid that he won't stop. He spent his life finding a reason. But today is new. Because maybe, he has a whole new reason to smile. Maybe what he's looking for is just right under his nose and he was too caught up with the pain to even look. Maybe he doesn't need to look for a reason anymore.

Because his new reason to smile is Kim Jongin.
