Shizuki's POV
Time flew by fast and Monday was already here.
Living with Nisha hadn't been...bad, it was actually good to have some company and someone to tease once in a while. Lucas used to be the person I'd always tease but we didn't even see each other everyday.
Besides, Nisha's temper was very easy to rouse.
And that Monday proved it to me again.
She had to come to work with me, and when I knocked at her door three times and she didn't respond, I assumed she was still asleep. So I ran back to my bedroom, and searched in the part of my closet that has remained untouched for years. Until I found it. My father's blow-horn.
I ran back to Nisha's bedroom and opened the door very gently, so as to not wake her up. There she was, lying under the blankets, as if she was very comfortable. The very small part of me that sometimes regrets pulling pranks felt bad for waking her up, but the majority of me won, so I did what I had to do.
Honk!
"Aaaaah!" she let out a terrified yelp as she jerked upright, holding the bedsheets as if protecting herself, and then her eyes finally landed on me.
"I'll... I'll... I don't know what I'll do to you one day," she said in disappointment, while I stood there laughing at her. She got out of bed and hurled a pillow at my face.
"Have you not been taught to knock?" she said, then got into her bathroom and slammed the door behind her.
I put the pillow back on the bed and put the bedsheets in order. "I'll be waiting for you downstairs. We're leaving at six thirty," I yelled.
"I can't get ready in thirty minutes!" she hollered back.
"Not my problem!" I replied, as I scurried down the stairs, walked into the kitchen and started getting our breakfast ready.
Twenty minutes later, while I was eating, I heard footsteps and turned around to see Nisha, ready in her work outfit. She was wearing a black pencil skirt with a beige knitted crewneck sweater and a black leather jacket on top. She paired that with black Chelsea boots and a Dior handbag. But what I noticed was that she was wearing sunglasses.
"It's not even sunny, Nisha."
"Oh, believe me, it's for the effect," she assured me, as she walked over to the table and took one of the sandwiches I had made. She sat down and started eating.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" she accused.
"Like what? I'm wondering what the effect is," I replied.
She looked glad that I asked, as if she would have explained it anyway. "Okay, so I'll walk in with you, right?"
I nodded.
"You'll be walking with that intimidating aura of yours, and I'll have my confident businesswoman aura. Then, I'll take my sunglasses off and flip my hair back. Then the other employees will be like, 'who's that girl'?" she explained.
I gave her a blank expression.
"Oh, and imagine some music playing in the background. Probably Ixley Starks' That Business Girly."
I still stared.
What?" she asked.
"Do you really think that's necessary?"
She sighed. "Shizuki, you don't understand how long I've waited for this day to come, and now that it's finally here, what do you expect me to do?"
