Shizuki's POV
Honk! Honk! Honk!
I could not remember the last time I drove at such a speed, but honestly, I did not care. People were in danger. People being Bel, Jade, and all the other students and staff members that were at the school. I zoomed past a car, narrowly avoided being hit by a truck, and was almost there.
"Shizuki, careful!" Nisha warned, the terror evident in her voice. I couldn't see her face though, I was focused on the road. I expertly skidded past three cars.
"Don't be scared, I know what I'm doing," I told her confidently.
"I know you know, but don't you have like, a security team, or something?" she asked quickly.
I hadn't thought of that. I guess I was overcome by panic so much that I couldn't think clearly. "Pull my phone out of my pocket. I'll tell you what number to dial," I instructed, and Nisha did as told. "We should probably call the police as well," I added.
"Careful!" Nisha yelped when I avoided hitting a taxi at the very last minute, opting to cut ahead of it instead.
I glanced at her and smirked when I saw her clutching her heart, squeezing my phone in her other hand.
"Keep your eyes on the road!" she exclaimed. I don't have your password, by the—"
She stopped talking and whipped her head back when we heard the blaring sound of sirens.
"I think you're getting pulled over," she whispered.
"Shoot!" I complained, as I got off the road and pulled up to the curb.
"At least we're almost here. Look, I'll deal with them, you run to the school," Nisha told me.
"Okay. Don't do anything rash that will get me in more trouble," I warned as I unbuckled my seatbelt. She glared at me.
"What?"
"I meant thank you," I said, as I got out of the car and ran as fast as I could, and believe me, I'm a fast runner. I could already hear people screaming from where I was, and as I approached, I saw students and teachers getting out of the school. I walked up to one of the students.
"Hey! Did you see a girl with pink hair?" I asked, because Jade's pink hair was noticeable from a distance and I assumed she was probably with Bel. The boy nodded.
"Yup. Just left in a taxi."
"With anyone else?"
"Uhh...her mom and the driver?"
I scanned the crowd for any sign of Bel but didn't find her. There was a teacher standing there ticking the names of the students present so I walked up to her.
"Hello, ma'am. Are they all present?" I asked.
The teacher ran her pen down her list. I was starting to get impatient and looked over to the road, and saw a police car approaching, with Nisha sitting on the front seat next to the driver. I recognized them as the policemen that pulled me over, and Nisha got them to come. Good. I turned back to the teacher, who was done reading her list.
"They're still looking for a certain Bel-hey!"
I didn't give the teacher a chance to finish her sentence and ran into the school. It probably couldn't be called a school anymore. But it could be called a 'school-after-disaster'. Tables and desks were broken and strewn across the courtyard, chalk, notebooks, pens and every other stationary item you can think of was somewhere out there, either on the ground or on another item. Where to start?
