Jeremy and Burt had just pushed the log back into the river and fixed up the fishing spot.

"I can't believe Chad pushed a log onto the fishing spot" said Burt.

"Me neither. He's never acted this way before" said Jeremy.

"I think this has gone far enough" said Burt.

The two hurried back to the Laughing Place.

"Chad we need to talk" said Jeremy.

They noticed that Chad was gone along with all of his stuff.

"Oh dear! He's gone. And so is his luggage" said Jeremy.

"Maybe he just decided to tidy up" said Burt.

"Oh don't be silly. He's the tidiest person I know" said Jeremy.

"The only reason Brer Chad cleaned the Laughing Place... is that he ran away" said Brer Vulture.

"Ran away? To where?" said Jeremy.

"Anywhere but Splash Mountain" said Brer Vulture.

"Holy disappearing act! We have to find him, Jeremy!" said Burt.

"Yes. Let's" said Jeremy.

At a nearby bus stop, Dale the dog was carrying a sneaker in his mouth.

"Good, Dale. You've got your galoshes. We'll be home soon; I promise" said Chad.

Jeremy and Burt found them just then.

"Oh, Chad the lad, thank heavens! We've been searching everywhere for you" Jeremy panted.

"Holy one hundred and three degree fever, Chad! We were worried sick. Why did you run away?" said Burt.

Chad stuttered. "I wanted to take Dale back to his family. He's homesick."

This said enough for Jeremy. "Oh, so that's what this whole thing has been about! You're homesick!"

"Gosh, Chad; why didn't you tell us the truth?" said Burt.

"Because I was embarrassed. I didn't want you to think I was soft" said Chad sadly.

"That's insulting. Why would your best friend call you soft?" said Jeremy.

"Why are you homesick, Chad?" said Burt.

"Because my wife's in Splash Mountain and I know she can't stay long. Seeing her sweet face again made me realize how much I miss my home" said Chad.

"Aww. I know how you feel. I miss Adam West. He's in Space Mountain, which kinda makes me wish we could still slam into it when we go zip lining" said Burt.

"Chad... you have nothing to be embarrassed of. Everyone gets homesick. When we finished school, I cried for weeks when I went to Scotland for a year" said Jeremy.

"See? Even Jeremy gets you" said Burt.

"I'll tell you what, Chad the lad. Give us one more chance to convince you to stay in Splash Mountain. Then if you still want to go home tomorrow, I'll pay for your ticket home. And Dale's" said Jeremy.

"Well... maybe I could stay one more night" said Chad.

"Smashing. Now let's get back to the mountain" said Jeremy.

"I just hope Brer Rabbit has found some food. My belly is growling worse than Dale when someone comes near his food bowl" said Chad.

"Finally; you admit you're starving!" said Burt.
