I blinked my eyes, hindi makapaniwala sa nakita.
"SINO ANG DEMONYONG GUMAWA SAYO NITO MAMA!
My poor mother cry harder, while trying to reach for my hands, to calm me down. My heartbreaks into a thousand of pieces while looking at her. Halos sambunutan ko na ang sarili ko sa sobrang galit. I am shakingly mad! Whoever did this to my mother is a f*cking MONSTER!
"Let's go to the police Mama..."
"Let's report the incident then, magpahatid tayo sa pinakamalapit na hospital."
Determinadong sabi ko sabay hila kay Mama. Nakailang hakbang nako, but she didn't move. Kunot noo ko siyang nilingon.
"Mama please... Let's go.."
Desperadong sabi ko, pero kagaya kanina, iniling niya lang ang kanyang ulo. Sinenyasan niya kong iabot ang bag ko sa kanya, at kahit lito ginawa ko ang kanyang gusto. Kinuha niya mula dito ang papel at ballpen ko. Nanginginig siyang sumulat at nang matapos ay humakbang siya papalapit sakin.
"They are powerful anak... Let's just keep quite."
This time, ako naman ang umiling. There's no way na papalampasin ko toh! I don't care how powerful they are! All I know is, I want them to pay for what they did to my mother!
"No Mama! I'll make them pay!"
Galit na tugon ko sa kanya, at akmang tatalikod na sana para tumawag ng pulis, when she hurriedly stop me and bend down her knees.

My voice broke. Paulit ulit siyang umiling sakin, bago muling sumulat sa papel.

Basa ko sa sulat kamay ni Mama, nang makalapit ako sa kanya para itayo siya. Nung una ay ayaw niya tumayo, pero nang pumayag ako sa kanyang gusto ay nagpaubaya na din si Mama.

Labag sa loob kong sabi sa kanya. I hug her tightly nang tuluyan na siyang makatayo. I caress her hair, to assure her that everything will be fine. Isinantabi ko muna ang galit, pagkabigla, at pagkalito sa mga pangyayari, to comfort my mother.
After she calm down, I asked her to go to the hospital.
"Let go to the hospital to treat your wounds Mama."
Nagulat ako ng dumaan ang takot sa mga mata niya, at bago pa man ako makapagtanong, Mama is already lying on the floor.
Everything happened so fast, right in front of my eyes. Binaril mismo sa harap ko ang nanay ko ng mga armadong lalakeng, may asul na uniporme. Ang mga taong balak ko sanang hingian ng tulong, ang mismong tumapos sa buhay ng nanay ko. I didn't see that coming! Ni wala kong narinig na putok ng baril! I didn't even hear their foot steps! Wala akong kamalay malay, na yun na pala ang huling yakapan namin ni inay.
"MAMA!" Help! Please
"Somebody help me!"
I helplessly yelled, habang yakap yakap, ang duguang katawan ni Mama, but nobody listen to me. The police just stare at me, while being busy with their so called report.
"Mama... Please wake up..."
"Your all I have..."
Iyak kong pakiusap, but she didn't wake up.
"Please don't leave me, I didn't call the police... gaya ng gusto mo, we'll just live silently, in peace... Kaya Mama, gising kana please.."
I desperately begged, but mama remained silent. Sinubukan ko pang gisingin siya, pero ayaw talaga ni Mama. Natulala ako sa kawalan. Hindi ko namalayan na lumapit ang isang pulis samin to check my mother's pulse.
"DON'T YOU DARE LAY YOUR DIRTY FINGERS ON HER!
Sigaw ko dito ng makita ko yun. The mother f*cker just looked away.
"Time of death 1 am..."
Nagpantig ang tenga ko, when I heard that from them.
"WHAT THE F*CK DID YOU SAY!"
"SHE'S NOT DEAD ASSHOLE!"
"SHE'S JUST SLEEPING!
Nahihibang na sigaw ko. They all looked at me with pity in their eyes.

I scoffed in disbelief.

"SO YOUR JOB IS TO KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE HUH!"
Galit na galit kong sigaw sa kanila but they just ignored me, and tried to take away my mother from me.
"Ligpitin niyo na ang bangkay"
Hinigpitan ko ang yakap ko ng marinig ko iyon. I'll protect you Mama... Bulong ko.
"I WON'T LET ANYONE TAKE MY MOTHER AWAY FROM ME! OVER MY DEAD BODY!
I screamed from the top of my lungs, pero pinagtulungan nila ko. Hinawakan nila ang makabilang braso ko. Sinubukan kong magpumiglas nang may itinurok sila sakin. Suddenly, my eyes feel heavy.
"We're really sorry..."
That's the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.
Nagising akong madilim ang paligid. Pagmulat ng aking mata, kaagad kong hinanap si Mama. I remember what happened earlier and I'm hoping that it was just a bad dream.
"Mama!"
"Where are you!"
Sigaw ko habang nangangapa sa dilim, until I found the light switch. I blinked twice to adjust my vision, medyo nasilaw kasi ako sa liwanag nang buksan ko ang ilaw. After that, I look around and everything seems normal. Walang bakas ng dugo sa sahig at malinis ang paligid. I sighed in relief. I guess, it was just a bad dream, Pero... Kung panaginip lang yun then, where's my mama..?
Baka may binili lang..? Pangsahog sa hapunan..?
That's what I thought, pero mag uumaga na at wala pa din si Mama. I started to lose hope that everything was just a dream. Wala sa sarili akong naglakad papunta sa kwarto ni Mama, when I noticed a piece of paper on the floor. Nanginginig ko tong pinulot, my tears fell when I realized that it's my mom's letter. I hurriedly read it.

I know by time you read this letter, I am no longer here. Alam kong marami kang tanong, but please anak, Just move forward, and don't look back.
I love you anak, and I will always choose to protect you, kahit kapalit pa nito buhay ko. I want you to be happy, even without me. You are strong Rye, mana ka kay nanay, I know you will overcome everything, and please remember that revenge is never the answer for anger.
