Chapter 29

"Is there any update about my Mom's case..?"

Tanong ko kay Astra, she's one of the 5 member of my gang called Daring Death. We are a group of drag racers. I established this 1 year ago, to build connections and power.

"I'm sorry to say this Hail but there's still no update."

I heavy sigh.

"I think the one behind your Mom's death is a very powerful person Hail"

Sabat ni Sunshine while fixing her gear. Nasa head quarters kasi ako ngayon para makibalita. Hanggang ngayon hindi parin kasi ako natatahimik sa nangyari noon.

"I agree Hail, there's no evidence left. Malinis ang pagkakagawa."

Dagdag ni Summer while wiping her precious car. Napabuntong hininga na lang ako. Gusto ko kasi talaga malaman ang nangyari kay Mama, at hindi ko man lang naipagluksa ang katawan niya.

I guess they're right, siguro nga makapangyarihan talaga ang nasa likod nito. Sa loob ng dalawang taon, I hired different skilled investigator and agents, but until now, wala pa ding lead sa nangyari kay Mama.

"I don't care how powerful those people is. I'll welcome them in hell." 

I coldly said. Tinapik lang nila ang balikat ko, before discussing the event later.

"There's a big race later"

Astra said while combing her hair.

"Are you going to attend Hail?"

Sabat ni Winter na kadadating lang. She's the twin sister of Summer.

"Your back bitch!"

Her twin said sabay bato ng basahan na pinampunas niya sa kanyang sasakyan.

"Damn you Summer!"

Sigaw ni Winter ng masapul sa mukha ng basahan. Her twin just laugh at her, habang napailing na lang kami sa kanilang kalokohan.

"I can't join you tonight, my daughter needs me."

I respond to Winters question.

"Mommy duty!"

Sabay sabay nilang sabi. I chuckled and mouthed "exactly" before walking straight to the door to go home.

I found my daughter Luna, sleeping peacefully in her crib. I stare at her beautiful face, hindi siya nakakasawang tingnan. Unfair nga lang, kasi ako ang nagdala sa kanya ng siyam na buwan pero, wala siyang nakuha sa features ko. She looks like her father, mula sa mata, ilong, at labi. Lahat nakuha niya sa kanya, isa rin siguro ito sa rason kung bakit hindi ako makamove on.

Napangiti ako, nang bahagyang ngumiti ang anak ko. It looks like her guardian angel is playing with her, or maybe... Her twin Moon. I smiled with that thought.

Mabilis lumipas ang panahon, parang kailan lang pinagmamasdan ko si Luna na palaging tulog nung maliit pa. Ngayon, she's now 4 years old, happily playing with other kids in the play ground.

I can't stop smiling while looking at my daughter playing, especially when I saw her making friends with other kids, but my smile fade away when a girl pushed her. She fell on the ground. Kaagad akong tumakbo para puntahan ang anak ko.

My heart ache when I hear her cry. Nagsitakbuhan ang mga bata pati ang batang babaeng, tumulak sa anak ko when they saw me coming.

"Luna baby what happen-"

"Mama I... I don't have a Pa..pa!"

Kinurot ang puso ko ng marinig yun sa anak ko. This is the first time, I heard it from her. I hold back my tears and hug her.

"Who told you that baby...?"

"Th... Them."

Sagot niya sabay turo sa direksyon, kung saan tumakbo ang mga bata kanina. Napapikit ako sa sakit. Ito na nga ba ang kinakatakot ko, ang mabully siya nang dahil dito. I took a deep breath and caress my daughter's hair.

"That's not true... You have a Papa he's just... He's just working so hard for us."

I lied. Ayokong magsinungaling sa kanya, but I have to. She stopped crying and look at me.

"Re...ally?"

Tumango ako bago ngumiti. My innocent daughter smiled at me while wiping her tears. 

"Luna... Luna wants to... see Papa!"

I hug my daughter to hide my tears. Hindi ko na napigilang umiyak sa sinabi niya, lalo na't kumikinginang ang mga mata niya, at bakas ang saya sa boses niya nang sabihin niya iyon sa akin.

"You will... Soon baby."

I can't ruin her happiness and excitement, she want to see her father. Ayokong ipagkait sa kanya ang bagay na yun. I need to find Verzine, my daughter needs her father.

It's already 5 in the afternoon when my daughter and I reached home. She fell asleep in the car, kaya buhat buhat ko siya papasok ng bahay.

"Your home..."

Mama said nang maabutan niya kong, nilalapag sa kama si Luna.
Tahimik akong tumango, bago inaya si Mama sa labas ng kwarto.

"Is there something wrong Anak...?"

She worriedly asked. In that moment, I break down. Niyakap ko si Mama Matilda, na parang isang batang nagsusumbong.

"What should I do Ma... Gusto niya makita ang papa niya."

Nanghihinang sabi ko. Mama hug me tighter and caress my back.

"Kung ano man ang maging desisyon mo anak, I will support you."

She gently said, I thanked her.

"So what's your decision anak..?"

"I'm planning to tell him Mama, but... I am scared"

Sagot ko bago bumitaw sa yakap. She cupped my faced tenderly.

"Why are you scared anak?"

"What if... He don't believe me... What if hindi niya tanggapin si Luna?"

I said full of fears. I don't want my daughter to get hurt, especially by her father.

"Then it's his lost Anak."

The next day, I booked at ticket online. I made a decision, I'll go back to the Philippines to find him. I don't know how will I tell him about her and I am really scared, but I have to do this for my daughter. I have to try.

Nasabi ko na kay Mama ang desisyon ko, I will leave Luna under her care. Ako muna magisa ang babalik sa Pinas para hanapin si Verzine.

"Where are you going Mama...?"

My daughter asked when she entered the room, naabutan niya kong nagiimpake ng mga gamit.
Hindi pa ako nakakapagpaalam sa kanya, I'll miss her for sure.
I stopped what I'm doing to hug and answer her.

"I'll bring home your father."

I gently whispered.
