Chapter 27

I dialed the number but no one answered, nagriring lang ito. Sinubukan ko pang tumawag ng ilang beses pero wala pa ding sumasagot, kaya napagdesisyunan kong tumawag na lang sa ibang araw.

Itinabi ko ang baul na naglalaman ng mga pamana sakin ni Mama, and continue cleaning the house. My baby needs a clean and healthy environment. Kahit pagod, I smiled with that thought.

I was in a middle of cleaning nang tumunog ang tyan ko, senyales na gutom na ako at ang anak ko. Kumuha ako ng itlog sa ref and fried it. I realize I'm running out of stock, so I decided to go the market after I eat. 

Sumakay ako ng Tricycle papuntang bayan, malayo kasi sa kabihasnan ang lokasyon ng aming bahay. I smiled, nang makarating sa entrance ng malaking super market, matagal na din kasi nung huli akong makapunta dito. Naudlot ang pagpasok ko sa loob, nang mahagip ng paningin ko si Verzine na nasa labas ng  isang restaurant, katabi ng super market.

Tumaas ang kilay ko when I saw  that he's with a girl, at hawak hawak niya ang palapulsuhan nito. My blood boiled just by seeing that. Ang bilis makahanap ng gago ah! I scoffed. Damn him! 

Imbes na mamili sinundan ko si Verzine, at ang lintek niyang kasama sa loob ng restaurant. The jerk didn't even notice my presence, he's busy talking to that girl. Umupo sila sa dulong bahagi, kung saan wala gaanong tao. I sat down silently behind them. They're busy looking at each other intensely, they didn't notice me. 

"So... Do you love her Draze?"

Nanlaki ang mata ko ng makilala ang nagmamayari ng boses. It's her... Roxie. Hindi ko kasi ito nakilala kanina dahil hindi ko makita ang kanyang mukha, nakatalikod ito sa akin but right now, It doesn't matter. I think they're talking about me! 

"Answer me Draze. Do you love Hailey?"

She asked aggressively for the second time, because Verzine didn't answer her earlier. I didn't dare to look at them, not  when my heart is f*cking racing! I waited for his answer, but it didn't came.

Humigpit ang hawak ko sa menu na kakabigay lang sakin ng waiter. What the heck! Ba't parang ang hirap para sa kanya na sagutin ang tanong na yun! He just remain silent and every second that passed feels like a torture to me! D*mn it! 

"Silence means Yes Draze... I'm going to abort our baby!" 

My body freezed and I couldn't breath. 

Our baby... She's pregnant? And...He's the father..?

My heart ached with that thought. Pinigil ko ang paghikbi ko. I need to confirm it, I need to hear his answer, kaya hindi ako pwedeng umiyak or else, mahahalata nila ko. 

"I... I don't love her and we broke up." 

My whole world falls apart, as thousand knives stab my broken heart.

"So please wipe your tears... And don't abort our baby." 

I let my tears fall and my heart bleeds with his words. I confirmed. He's the father of her child! I brushed off my tears and slammed the table in so much anger, to caught their attention. Parehong nanlaki ang mga mata nila nang humarap ako sa kanila. 

"Rye..." 

He whispered in horror. 

"Why are you here?" 

Roxie asked but I ignored her. My eyes remain to the man in front of me, who cheated on me. 

"Rye let me expl-"

"You cheated on me." 

I caught him off. I'm so f*cking mad! Or should I say... Hurt! I can't believe it! Those happy moments of us is just full of lies! 

"He doesn't love you! He never did!"

"Shut the f*ck up bitch I'm not talking to you!" 

Sagot ko ng sumabat si Roxie. Damn her! Buti na lang tumahimik siya, when she saw how mad I am or else, I won't hesitate to punch her slutty face! 

"So, everything that happened to us was just a lie huh!" 

"Tell me you didn't love me! Say it in front of my face!" 

I said while holding back my tears. Verzine look at me with pity.

"Tell her Draze..." 

 Pabalik balik ang tingin niya sakin at kay Roxie. It's like he's so confused. Paulit ulit siyang lumunok. 

"Make it clear to her Draze. I'll make you choose, me or her!"

"You don't need to choose Verzine." 

I said breaking the deafening silence. I don't want to make it hard for him. My heart ache in so much pain, I've had enough.

"I am not on option, It's either me or no one else." 

That's the last thing I said before turning my back at him. Tuloy tuloy ang lakad ko palabas ng restaurant, with blurry eyes and broke heart. I burst into tears, nang tuluyang makalayo. How could he do that to me! I love him for real! He lied to me! He cheated on me! I gave him my everything! Wala kong tinira para sa sarili ko... I don't deserve this! 

I cried so hard as heavy rain pours down. Nagsisitakbuhan na ang mga tao para sumilong, habang nanatili ako sa ilalim ng puno. The tree beside me, witness how my heart breaks into pieces, while the rain wash away my heavy tears.

"I don't need him... I can live without him!"

I shouted over and over again, but I never knew that my heart could break itself, when I found my hands caressing my tummy.

It's true that I can live without him but... My poor baby needs him. My child needs a father. Ayokong lumaki siyang gaya ko, walang tatay. I don't want her to question her worth, I don't want her to experience, what I've experienced for the past years of my existence. Ayoko siyang mabully! I don't want the world to dislike her, just because she grew up without a father! I don't want her to end up like me! I need to tell him about my pregnancy!

I don't care anymore about what he did to me! Wala na din akong pake kahit may anak pa siya sa ibang babae, as long as he will be a father to my child that is more enough.

With that thoughts, I pushed myself to stand up and go back to the restaurant, hindi alintana ang ulan. My vision is blurry because of swollen eyes and heavy rain, my knees also feels weak but, it didn't stop me from running as fast as I can.

Naabutan ko sila sa labas ng restaurant, sa may gilid ng parking area. I stopped few meters away from them, to catch my breath and there... Right in front of my eyes, I saw him kissing her under the rain.
