Chapter 2: Reappear
Andrew and his Uncle Martin have spent a long time searching for Andrew's father. Andrew is certain that his father did not leave him or his mother willingly. However, Andrew's mother believes that his father is no longer alive and has given up hope. A year after Alan's disappearance, Stacy, Andrew's mother, remarries a man named Jeff Brown. Andrew does not get along with his stepfather and resents his mother for replacing his father. His anger intensifies when his mother becomes pregnant. At the age of eighteen, Andrew decides to move out of his mother's house and live with his Uncle Martin.
Andrew departed from his mother's residence prior to the arrival of his younger brother, Paul. Andrew and his mother had not communicated since he left, resulting in him never meeting his brother. Martin and Nancy, who is Martin's mother, were also upset with Stacy for not waiting for Alan. Martin holds Stacy's parents responsible for pressuring her into getting remarried. Stacy's parents were unpleasant individuals who expressed disappointment when Stacy tied the knot with Alan. When Stacy encountered Jeff, her parents were urging her to pursue a relationship with him. Andrew was also resentful towards his grandparents and has not engaged in conversation with them. However, Andrew did maintain communication with his paternal grandparents who were Alan and Martin's parents.
Andrew was in a relationship with a woman named Jane Morton, who happens to be Willow Mills' cousin. Jane used to be an equestrian, but unfortunately, she suffered a severe injury in an accident. Despite this setback, Jane pursued a career in medicine and met Andrew while attending medical school. They eventually started dating and decided to live together after being in a relationship for a year. Both Jane and Andrew had no desire to get married or have children. One day, while Andrew was listening to the weather forecast, he learned that a severe storm was approaching. Concerned, he decided to go to the store to buy some groceries.
Andrew witnessed a severe lightning storm. He observed a lightning bolt striking the ground with such force that it caused the ground to shake. As a result, Andrew lost control of his car. Additionally, he noticed an object falling from the sky at the moment of impact. Curious, Andrew approached the fallen object and discovered a naked man who bore a resemblance to his father. Concerned for the man's well-being, Andrew promptly called for an ambulance. The medical assistance arrived relatively quickly, and Andrew accompanied the injured man in the ambulance. The man sustained serious injuries, including two broken ribs and a broken jaw.
Andrew was shocked to see how much the man resembled his father, even though he appeared to be the same age as Andrew. The medical team had already taken the man into the hospital, and Andrew checked him in. As he walked into the waiting room, he saw his uncle Martin.
"Uncle Martin, what brings you here?" Andrew asked.
"I'm here about the man you found on the street," Martin replied.
"He still hasn't said anything." Andrew updated his uncle, "He's on a ventilator, and he's in a coma."
"What happened to him?" Martin asks.
"I was driving and I saw this lightning bulb hit the ground causing the ground to shake. I saw something fall from the sky. I found this man on the ground and he did not have any clothes," Andrew explained.
Martin furrowed his brow in concern.
"Did he say anything when you found him?" Martin asked.
"No, he was unconscious when I found him and he was not moving. I thought he was dead at first," Andrew explained.
Martin nodded, absorbing the information. "Did he have any identification?" Martin asked.
"No, like I said, the man was not wearing any clothes. He was naked," Andrew replied.
Martin's concern deepened. "We need to get him some help," he said.
