Chapter 3: The Question
Afterwards, Martin managed to obtain the fingerprints of the individual. He proceeded to input the fingerprints into the computer database. The results of the fingerprint search came back rapidly, revealing Alan's picture on the computer screen. Martin was taken aback and found it hard to believe that it was Alan. Overwhelmed, Martin needed to compose himself before speaking with Andrew. Eventually, Martin regained his composure and approached Andrew to have a conversation. While en route to the hospital, Martin noticed FBI vehicles near the location where Alan was discovered by Andrew. This left Martin curious about the reason for the FBI's presence.
Martin was already in the hospital when he asked Andrew if they could talk.
"What's going on?" Andrew asked, concerned.
"The fingerprint results just came in," Martin explained, "and that man is your father."
Andrew was taken aback.
"But he looks close to our age. Dad would be fifty years old right now," he protested.
Martin didn't have an answer for that, but he did know that the FBI was investigating the storm and that they needed to keep Andrew's father's identity a secret. Andrew agreed, and they both tried to figure out what to do next.
Andrew was in a state of shock. He couldn't believe that man was his dad. He had always wondered where his dad had been all these years. As he stared out the window, he couldn't help but wonder what the FBI was doing investigating the storm. He couldn't tell if it was a storm or something else. Andrew knew he had to find out what was going on. Meanwhile, Jane had already heard about the man being Andrew's dad. She went to talk to him.
"Andrew, are you going to tell your mom about your dad being alive?" Jane asked.
Andrew shook his head. "No, Uncle Martin doesn't want anyone to know," he explained.
"Your mom has the right to know that your dad is alive," Jane argued.
"I agree, but it is not safe to let my mom know." Additionally, my mom is currently married to another individual who has a son that I dislike. If I told my mom that Dad is alive, she would tell that jerk. The FBI is investigating the storm. Jeff never liked my dad and he would love to report him to the FBI," Andrew explained.
"Why is the FBI investigating the storm? Your dad has not committed any crime," Jane asserts.
"I do not know, but I'll find out," Andrew replied.
"Do you think the storm might have been a UFO?" Jane asks.
"I do not know. I do know the FBI would not be investigating a thunderstorm," Andrew replied.
Andrew did not believe in aliens, but he started to wonder. He knew that his father fell from the sky, but where did he fall from? Why hasn't his dad aged? Andrew's dad looks the same age as he is. Andrew started to wonder about what Jane said about aliens. He was wondering if his dad was abducted by aliens.
Andrew went to the library to do some research on alien abduction and missing people. While browsing through articles, he stumbled upon an intriguing story about a soldier named David Madison who disappeared during active duty in Vietnam. Despite many speculations about his fate, David reappeared after five years, and what's more, he hadn't aged a day since he disappeared. Andrew was fascinated and wanted to know more about David's story. However, he couldn't find any information on David's current whereabouts. As he was searching, his phone rang, and it was his uncle Martin.
"Hello, what's going on?" Andrew answered.
"Your dad woke up," Martin replied, prompting Andrew to rush to the hospital.
