It's been a week since the discovery of Jason Blossom's body. But his death is not the first, nor would it be the last casualty that the town of Riverdale would suffer.
To showcase this, Archie and Grundy sit in the latter's car with Ghostface watching them from afar. It's too dark out to see what they're doing, but most can probably guess.
Another example shows when Ghostface stalks Cheryl and her hyenas as they make their way to Pop's.
However, this time, it's not what Jughead is thinking about.
The Twilight Drive-in, my home away from home, a piece of town history is closing for good, just when we needed a place to escape to the most.
With Sheriff Keller knocking on every door, neighbor suspecting neighbor, and another infamous footballer missing, Riverdale, every day that passes is becoming more like Salem during the witch trials.
And meanwhile, the girl next door, our friendly neighbor Hitchcock blond, Betty Cooper, was wrestling with the knowledge that her best friend, Archie Andrews, was caught up in a forbidden romance.
Dear diary,
That Riverdale High's music teacher, Geraldine Grundy, was at Sweetwater River the morning Jason Blossom went missing. And since that Archie was also there, they could've been there together.
_______________
Archie and his dad along with other adults sit and listen to Ms. Grundy's performance out at a park. It's worth noting, the weather is actually pretty nice today.
"She is incredible." Fred softly comments to Archie, who then gets flashbacks of the previous moments with her.
"She's the best." Archie agrees with a straight face.
As it reaches it's end and everything wraps up. Fred walks over along with Archie. "I'm usually a classic rock kind of guy, but that was beautiful, truly."
"Congratulations, Ms Grundy." Archie adds, handing her a bouquet of flowers.
"Thank you." Grundy takes them with a grin. "Both of you for coming."
"No, you kidding? Archie, he wouldn't miss it. I had to beg him to let me come." Fred remarks, unknowingly making the two slightly nervous.
"Great, I'll see you at school Miss Grundy." Archie tries to dismiss to avoid any tension "lets go dad-"
"Well, I was thinking that, you know, if you're gonna be alone tonight, we could take you out to dinner." Fred suggests, causing Archie and Grundy to secretly share a look.
'Tell me he's joking' Archie mentally grumbles.
"Uh, no, I couldn't impose." Grundy stutters, knowing that Archie seems uncomfortable with the idea.
"After everything you've done for my son..." Fred persists, chuckling. "You know, with his music, it's the least I can do, I insist."
Well, looks like they can't get themselves out of this one.
_______________Pop's
"The Drive-in closing is just one more nail in the coffin that is Riverdale...." Jughead complains to Betty, Y/N, Veronica, and Kevin who all sit in the same booth. "No, forget Riverdale, in the coffin of the American dream. As the godfather of indie cinema, Quentin Tarantino likes to say-"
"Please, no more Quentin Tarantino references." Kevin pleads to him. The guy has been going at it non-stop, but a guy can only hear so much.
"What? I'm pissed. And not just about losing my job." Jughead continues to vent. "The Twilight Drive-in should mean something to us. People should be trying to save it."
