They were yelling again. And my brother was trying to distract me. "Hey look at the tall building." He smiled. I looked out the rainy window and sighed. This happened often, my mom and dad would fight, and my brother would distract me. And it usually works, but tonight we were in a car, so close together, you can hear and see everyone. My brother put his hand on my shoulder. "It'll be over soon." He smiled brightly again. He was 13 and I was 5. "God would you please shut the hell up!" My dad screamed at my mom. "Can you both just stop."  I sobbed. "Y/n you can shut the hell up too. I fucking hate your ratty little voice. You always have to talk, you never shut up, you comment on everything. Just shut up!" I cried harder. "Dad!" My brother said, rubbing my back. "Didn't I just say to shut up, piece of shit." My dad grunted. "Jim, please stop." My mom said softly. My dad and her went back and forth a litle more and I kept crying. My dad turned around, fier in his eyes. He put his hand up to hit me, but his hand that was on the wheel swerved. Crashing into a semi, intsantly smashing the front of the car. The front of the car became red, and where me and my brother were sitting bacame compressed. I couldn't feel anything, my brother starded talking, or screming. Everything was muffled and I couldn't hear or see a thing as my eyes began to blur. After what felt like hours, I heared sirens. I don't know what happened after that.

BEEP...BEEP...BEEP...BEEP...BEEP. I heared. Slowly everything came to me, hearing and seeing. My breathing slowed and matched the beeps. I saw bright lights that soon dimmed as I looked around. I was in a hospital? I tired to recall what happened, but I couldn't, till it slowly came back to me. "Y/n shut the hell up!" "Didn't I tell you to shut up, peice of shit!" Was it my fault? If I hadn't said anything this wouldn't have happened.  A pretty lady came in and smiled at me softly. "Hey Y/n." She smiled again, fidling with some purple plastic gloves. "Hi." I barely managed. I didn't reilize how dry and scratchy my throat was. "You don't have to talk if it hurts sweety." She sat in a chair across the room and rolled twoards me. "Do you remeber what happened?" She said softly. That's when the actually acident came to me. My mom, her head split open and shamshed into the door. Blood covered the car. My eyes teared up. "It's okay sweety." She said. "Are my faimly okay?"  I muffled. She sighed and hesitated for a minute. "Your mommy and daddy, have passed away." She said quietly. "I know, no I meant my brother. Is he okay." I said. "He has a few broken bones." "Where is he, I want to see him now." I screamed. "He's sleeping, hes in the room right next to you just, just calm down. She said rushed. I calmed down after a few seconds. "You know your brother is a real hero. He covered you, to protect you." She smiled. Everything had still been a blur, I was still barely awake, but suddenly all the pain came to me. A hard sting in my arm struck my body. I finally looked at my arm and it was in a cast. I don't know how I hadn't realized. After seeing that I blanked out.

I was there for the week, I wasn't able to see my brother during this time. When we were let out my brother hugged me. He had a cast on his leg. I hugged him back. "Everything will be alright, kay?" He reassured me with a smile. We had lived close enough to the hospital where we could walk back, maybe took about an hour with injuries. While walking he made grunting noises.

We got home and the house was dead. Nothing felt the same, and I had a feeling, nothing would be the same.
