119 d. C"What do you think we should name her?" Shiera asked. She and Aemond were cuddled by the fire where the egg rested. It had been three weeks since Aegon gave them the egg and it had become a tradition for them to sit there while they talked about their days. About the history lessons about their family and the conquest of the Targaryens. They also liked to spend time together sometimes in the library while they shared cherry pies stolen from the kitchens and Aemond read books to her.
"I don't know, but it should have a strong name, something that inspires fear" If he could he would like it to be like Caraxes, the dragon of his uncle Daemon. It was said that they had such a strong bond that he didn't need to command him to do what he wanted. He also knew of the rumors that he was Shiera's father. Mostly by her mother and sworn shield, who loved to talk about the multiple gossip of the court.
"I like Meraxes" Shiera loved the stories about the dragons of the conquerors. She made Aemond read to her their stories again and again without ever getting bored of them.
"It's perfect Shiera" He didn't want to get her hopes up, but he also didn't want to depress her after seeing the smile she had when talking about the egg. Aemond didn't think the egg was going to hatch. It looked like it had been petrified for quite some time, probably having been forgotten when it didn't hatch.
"Aemond, could I tell you something? and promise me not to tell anyone?" It's not that she didn't trust him, but that what she was going to tell him was something that until now she could only talk about with her family.
"I swear it, you know your secrets are mine and mine are yours" He would never betray her. She went first and then the rest of the world. He had made himself that promise almost 6 years ago.
Now that he had promised she came closer to him making sure that the blanket wrapped around them didn't drop. This closeness with Aemond was natural to her and being able to freely hug him and touch him calmed her. Without sight, interacting with people was difficult for her because, as it had happened before when Aemond was in his lessons, she didn't know if they were making fun of her or being honest. So having someone to rely on, especially Aemond, made her life easier and happier.
"Sometimes I have dreams. They tell me about things that are going to happen or have happened. The night before Aegon gave you the egg I dreamed about its hatching and of a dragonrider's death. I know I sound a little mad but I swear I'm not" The last thing she wanted was to lose Aemond because he thought she was mad.
They remained quiet for a few seconds before Aemond took her hand, moving it to his face so he could lean on it.
"I believe you. And when it happens I'll be even happier because it would be a miracle produced by you ñuha zaldrītsos" If the dream came true and she really had dragon dreams it meant she was going to be in greater danger. Who wouldn't want their future predicted? In that moment he made himself another promise, he would make sure no one knew of her abilities.
Even if it costs him his life.
Some hours later, when both children had fallen asleep in each other's arms a little white worm sent a raven with the information it had learned to a certain prince settled in Essos.
