119 d. CKing's Landing
When Shiera woke up Aemond kept his word and he kept his word and accompanied her to see Daemon.
If it weren't for the fact that he was her father, she would have doubted his intentions and ignored his wishes.
As they walked through the halls, the servants were running around like headless chickens. Stopping only to greet them before returning to their tasks.
"What do you think he wants to talk to you about?" Amond asked. Now he was curious and he couldn't help but wanted to know if delivering her to the rogue prince was a good idea.
"I suppose he wants to talk about Laenor." Shiera didn't believe it, she knew. With his death, a void had formed in the family and she knew that someone would fill it in no time.
"He better not say weird things." He said. "Anyway, I'll be waiting for you outside. If you need help, just yell and I'll take care of him."
"Aemond, don't talk nonsense. He would never hurt me." A small laugh escaped him. Even being the best of all the children with the sword, Daemon was a god of war. His battles were legendary as was his intelligence in combat and his handling of the sword. "I appreciate your concern. But nothing's going to happen."
Getting a little closer to Aemond, Shiera whispered in his ear so that no one else would hear her.
"Besides, Kepa has been trying to spend time with me for a long time now."Shirea wasn't afraid to call Daemon that with Aemond. She knew his words were safe with him.
The truth is that his first attempts at conversing with her had been a bit awkward. Daemon was not known for his patience or his conversational skills. But he tried. And that was all Shiera wanted.
He had started to ride alongside her dragon every time she was in the air without Aemond. Sometimes he dined with Shiera and her family in their private chambers and lately he had started to teach her High Valyrian.
Before they knew it they arrived at Daemon's chambers. As Aemond guided Shiera through the door after he knocked on it he made sure to scan the room for anyone other than the prince.
At the knock on his door Daemon looked up from the book he was reading and got up to go to Shiera's side.
Once he had taken her by the hand he nodded at Aemond and made his way towards the chaise that was placed facing the sea.
As promised Aemond made his way to the wall beside the door and made himself comfortable on the floor.
Daemon had made sure to order the servants to heat the room as he knew how cold Shiera was. The end of the year was drawing near, and though the maids and servants knew that Targaryens loved warmth, the fires never got hot enough for them.
He had also asked the palace cooks to bring some of the cherry pies she enjoyed so much to his chambers.
After several moons in her company, he had finally begun to get to know his daughter. After he helped her sit down he took his seat at her side.
If he was being honest, he didn't really know how to start the conversation. Even after all these moons they hadn't talked about their blood relation. It felt like an insult to Laenor, which continued to be present in their lives till just a few hours ago.
"I reckon you know why I called for you," Daemon said. "Now that Laenor has passed I would like to talk to you about us."
Shiera nodded her head to make sure Daemon knew he had all her attention. She could feel the nervousness in his voice.
