-5- DALLAS!!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!

DALLAS POV

I held her close as Darry cleaned up the rest of the wounds.  "Its ok Phe.  Im here.  Im here." I said looking at her sobbing her. Eyes out.  I don't know if she was crying because she was happy to have me back or if it hurt.  I just rubbed her head. 

I felt horrible.  First I practically abandoned her with our awful parents then send her to the Curtis at night.  Why did those Socs like to jump us?  I thought to myself.  We both lost our parents and I almost lost her.  I was such a crappy brother. 

"Does It hurt Phe?"  I asked softly "not really." She said still crying on my shirt.  "Then whats wrong why are you crying?"  Darry said trying not to push on the wounds to hard.  "Im just so happy your back Dal I missed you so much."  She said In between sobs.  I was about to start crying to.  "Im so sorry I left you."  I said on the bridge of tears.

We both stayed there that night me and Phe slept on the couch she was curled up in my arms sound asleep.  Then I heard her yell "No...No stop please."  Then she began thrashing around.  I grabbed her and hugged her tightly "shhhhh Its ok" i repeated until she stopped and settled down.  She had had another nightmare.  She had them every night our parents came home drunk. 

I couldn't wake her up.  She needed the sleep.  I hugged her tightly and we both drifted back asleep. 

PHEOBE POV

I had fallen asleep curled up in Dally's arms.  I had had a nightmare where some Soc had held a switch blade up to my neck.  "NO!!!...NO STOP PLEASE!!!"  I yelled.  Then I felt a figure pull me away into a tight hug me and say "shhhhh Its ok" repeatedly until everything stopped.  I felt at peace until I looked up to see the Curtis house and Dallas fast asleep.  I hugged him close and fell back asleep. 

I woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon.  Then I realized how starving I was.  Steve and Two walked in to see me laying on the couch and Dally still fast asleep hugging me.  Then he woke up to hear Two-Bit say "well I guess big bad Dallas became Mr. Teddy bear Dallas huh."  "SHUT YOUR TRAP TWO-BIT!!!" Dallas yelled at Two-Bit chasing him around the house.  After breakfast Soda and Steve offered to take me to the DX where they worked.  I agreed to work at the cash register since Soda cant count the right about of change and Steve hated it. 

TWO WEEKS LATER

I loved work at the DX (mainly to look at Soda) some girls came just to see Soda.  I knew that Soda hated it so to some girls (most girls) all I said was that he wasn't here. 

I continued to check people out and stock the shelves when Sodapop came in.  I heard the cash register open and I walked up.  Soda you cant work the cash register.  Then I saw a man in all black with a black mask over his whole face.  He had a gun pointed to Soda and then glanced at me.

He yanked me and put me in a chokehold.  I didn't have my blade with me because I forgot it in Windrixville.  Then he pointed the gun to me and yelled " GIVE ME ALL THE MONEY OR SHE DIES!!"  Soda quickly emptied the cash register.  Then I hear the door open and a gun get primed.  We all looked over to see Dallas.  The robber quickly shot the gun at Dallas and ran.  Dally collapsed to the floor in an instant.  Soda quickly ran to the phone to call an ambulance.

I bawled my eyes out thinking my big brother was gone.  I held him tight and didn't let the ambulance take him till Soda pulled me off.  I bawled my eyes out into Sodas DX shirt knowing Dallas was gone. 

Soda comforted me.  Darry did a little considering he was at work most of the day. 

Then when Darry came home from work he gave me a hug and said it would be alright.  He cooked dinner for all 7 of us.  I didn't eat I couldn't eat.  I was to heart broken.  Thankfully Darry had an extra room that was Sodas old bedroom till their parents died.  Pony kept having nightmares so Soda slept with him.  I wish Dally was there.  I had nightmares every night for over a month.  Dallas always comforted me at night so I rarely had them till he was gone.  It was always that day at the DX on repeat. 

Then it hit me.  Dallas was gone.  I began to sob until Soda came in.  "Hey Phe you ok?"  The gang always called me Phe.  I didn't mind but it made me cry harder knowing Dally never called me Phoebe he called me Phe.  Soda sat next to me and pulled me in a tight hug.  Again made me cry harder knowing Dallas hugged me the same way when I woke up from a nightmare.  I fell asleep in Sodas arms and woke up in bed. 

SODAPOP POV

I woke up in the middle of the night and I heard crying.  I looked over at Pony who was sound asleep. I peeked in Darrys room to see him sound asleep. I walked to Phoebe's room to see her sitting on the floor sobbing. "Hey Phe you ok?"  The gang always called her Phe. She never seemed to mind but it made her cry harder. I sat next to her and pulled her in a tight hug.  Again made her cry harder. Finally she fell asleep in my arms. I picked her up bridal style and laid her down on her bed. I put a blanket over her and went back to bed.

The next morning she came down with her eyes red and puffy. All she did was pick at the food.

DARRY POV

I heard sobbing and walked into Soda and Pony's room. I saw Pony sound asleep but no Soda. I peeked into Phoebe's room to see Phoebe balling into Sodas arms and Soda swaying her back and forth like I used to to with him and Pony when they had a nightmare. I walked back to bed and fell asleep when she stopped crying.

I walk down to make breakfast and holler to everyone.  They all come down. Phoebe's eyes were all red and puffy from the crying.  All she did was pick at the food.  "Phe you should eat some breakfast.  You didn't eat dinner last night you need to eat something."  I said in a worried tone.  I could see tears start to form in her eyes.  She got up "Ill be back in a second." She said and walked off.  She went into the bathroom.  I could hear the door lock and then hear crying.  I walked up and knocked.  "Phe what's wrong.  Let me in."  I pleaded.  "Go away Darry leave me alone."  She said in between sobs.  "Phe please."  I begged.  "GO AWAY DARREL" she yelled leaving me stunned.  "You cant stay in there forever." I said in a soft tone. 

Just then Sodapop walked up and motions me to go away.  He knocked softly.  "Phoebe its Soda can you please let me in?" He said in a comforting tone

SODA POV

"Phe you should eat some breakfast.  You didn't eat dinner last night you need to eat something."  Darry  said in a worried tone.  He was right and we didn't want her to get sick.  I could see tears start to form in her eyes.  She got up "Ill be back in a second." She said and walked off.  She went into the bathroom.  I could hear the door lock and then hear crying.  Darry walked up and knocked.  "Phe what's wrong.  Let me in."  He pleaded.  "Go away Darry leave me alone."  She said in between sobs.  "Phe please." He begged.  She didn't like being called Phe since Dally got shot.  He always called her Phe.  "GO AWAY DARREL" she yelled leaving Darry and I stunned.  "You cant stay in there forever." He said in a soft tone. 

Just then I walked up and motioned him to go away. I knocked softly.  "Phoebe its Soda can you please let me in?" I said in a comforting tone.  I could here her get up and unlock the door.  She ran into my arms sobbing.  I rubbed her back and comforted her.  Why didn't she want to see Darry?

We walked back to the table.  All of us (but Phoebe) ate.

PHOEBE POV

After Darry called us down for dinner all I did was pick at my food.  I wasn't hungry and didn't what to eat after what happened to Dally

"Phe you should eat some breakfast.  You didn't eat dinner last night you need to eat something."  Darry  said in a worried tone.  I could feel tears start to form in my eyes.  I got up "Ill be back in a second."  I said and walked off.  I went into the bathroom.  I locked the door and began to sob Darry walked up and knocked.  "Phe what's wrong.  Let me in."  He pleaded.  "Go away Darry leave me alone." I said in between sobs.  "Phe please." He begged. I didn't like being called Phe since Dally got shot.  He always called me Phe.  "GO AWAY DARREL" I yelled, the only person I wanted right now was Soda. I really wanted Dally but he was dead. I wasn't mad at Darry or anything. He just reminded me of Dally and he was gone. "You cant stay in there forever." He said in a soft tone. 

He knocked softly.  "Phoebe its Soda can you please let me in?" He said in a comforting tone. I got up and unlocked the door.  I ran into his arms sobbing.  He rubbed my back and comforted me.

I decided not to go to the DX and mainly stayed in bed the rest of the day
