The sun shining on his fur, Thunder dashes across the grass, kicking the soccer ball to and fro as he speeds his way up to the net. Sure, his adversary, Rainie, may be blocking it with all her might–but she's no match for this godspeed burst of lightning. Thrusting his leg forward, he sends the ball flying towards the goal, over her shoulder and–
"GOAL!!!" he yells in triumph.
"Okay okay, I get it, Thunder! You're super good at soccer, you scored like 10 times already..." Rainie groans. She then mutters, "When is Sunny going to be done with the food?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know I'm the best." Thunder brags. "It's like no Mon here can give me any challenge at all!"
The family was having a picnic today on that open field surrounded by Lily's garden. With all the game equipment taken out to play with, Thunder had no choice but to take the opportunity to absolutely destroy everyone else in a bunch of games and become the grand champion of the Field Day.
Well okay, he technically didn't beat everyone. Glade was just sitting over there under a tree, reading his stupid books, and being way too busy to even bother joining the fun.
What a boring dork, Thunder thought.
To his surprise though, Glade actually decides to stop reading and walks up to him–though with the usual stern expression on his face.
"Look at you, inflating your ego as usual. Arrogant jocks like you just can't seem to have enough of themselves, hm?" He admonishes him.
"Me?!" Thunder snaps. "You literally think you're the best Mon in the world with all that fancy talk! Why don't we have a 1v1 soccer match and see who's the best right here and now?"
"I have no time for such frivolities. I have been working on expanding my mental capabilities rather than purely focus on physicality, unlike your rather bovine self."
"Huh?" Thunder mocks him, putting his paw on his own ear. "Sounds to me like you're scared!"
"Afraid? False. I'll show you myself by putting you in your place. I shall accept your challenge."
"Are you two seriously fighting again?" Rainie asks them, a bit concerned, but only for a moment. "Whatever, means I won't have to stick around here anymore." She walks away to the picnic blanket where the rest of the girls were playing a card game.
"It looks like I've won." Lily smiles as she places down a card.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Pinky whines. "I was sooo close!"
"Whatcha guys doing?" Rainie asks the girls.
"Oh, hi Rainie, we're just playing UNO." Destiny replies in a tense manner that sounded either bored or nervous.
"Are you alright, Destiny? You appear anxious." Lily looks at her.
"Yes, I'm fine, it's just I'm not so used to relaxing like this." She sighs. "And...I have this nagging feeling that Buster isn't helping Sunny cook right now." She adds in an annoyed tone, suddenly lifting herself up.
"Huh? How do you know that?" Pinky calls out.
"I've been with him for 10 years!" She responds back.
Meanwhile, the fierce rivals Thunder and Glade begin to play out their intense soccer game. With a confident smirk, Thunder slams the ball, no doubt thrusting it straight into the net. Unfortunately for him however, the responsive Glade intercepts it and starts running to the other net, skillfully maneuvering the ball around him.
