Days came and went and as Yn's eyes remained closed, so did the rest of the world. A blanket of darkness covered Draco's world all signs of darkness in a time of confusion and uncertainty. His hands desperately grasped her hands scared that if he were to let go, she may never come back. The longer she lay motionless, the more the guilt consumed him. Every day and every night he thought about her, never leaving her side.
Heads of the world bowed waiting for her to awake. Pansy was away within mere moments, so why was Yn still unconscious?
Dumbledore took slow and careful steps toward Draco. At this late hour, the people that normally waited upon Yn had left leaving only the poor boy in his desperate state.
"Yn is a strong girl," Dumbledore says sitting in a chair. "In many ways... One of them being magic," he starts in a tone indicating this has a certain importance to it.
"Where are you going with this?" Draco's tone held cold hard pain and short fuse. He was sleep deprived, stressed and filled with guilt. It was written all over his face.
"My dear boy, this wasn't your fault. Take a seat, please. She will still be there when I am finished," Dumbledore held a wise type of maturity that urged everyone to consider as he asked, Draco reluctantly following his instructions. "When a wizard, or witch, faces a time of need, or overwhelming emotions, he or she may exhibit uncontrollable power," Dumbledore's face became more solemn as he gazed at Yn. "Her home life was never inviting, so she used school as an escape. France was also not warm or kind to her, so I invited her to this school hoping this year and next year would be a new start for her."
Draco listened with anticipation hoping he would hurry up and explain it. Save her. Do something helpful. Dumbledore's quick wit picked up on Draco's thoughts so he continues. "Under emotional stress she felt like you were her last person. When her schoolmates gave her terrible advice, she followed, desperate to have you back. However, it didn't work, and when her strong surge of emotions, her magical power over road and blasted," Dumbledore explained eyes toward the window but attention deeper in his own head.
"So Yn will wake soon?" Draco asked taking Yn's chilled hand again.
"You only know darkness when you cease to search for the light," The Headmaster stood walking away leaving only the lack of answers.
Draco sat on the edge of her bed with no tears left to cry, only a pain clutching every cell of him making the blonde unable to function. A deep sorrow and guilt rooted into his very soul, only digging deeper with every passing second.
Draco's stomach was a deep pit and his head a mess of concern for the beautiful broken Yn. "I know you cannot hear this. So I must tell you now, in case I shy away later. Yn Yln. You are my person. I know it more than I have ever known anything. I screwed up. I admit it. And I am so deeply sorry. Words cannot describe the pain and utter remorse I feel. Please, please wake up. Even if it is to punch me in the face and call me all sorts of names. I need to hear your angelic voice, and see your breath taking eyes," his voice was scratchy and broken, blurred with dry sobs.
He desperately wanted to hug all her problems away, but he was stuck there, on the lonely side of her bed. Unable to do anything but hope that somehow a miracle happens.
