"Wanna go out for a walk in the forest, Maylene?" Y/n asked, gesturing his head to the woods. "Why not." Maylene smiled. The two began walking deeper into the green, mysterious, lively, pokemon filled woods. "Hey Señorito Perfecto, make sure you and Maylene are back at least an hour after the sun sets for dinner!" Justin's voice was heard as they both laughed. "Sure thing!" Y/n yelled back, smiling.

They both talked about things that they learned while they were separated. "So, you cut the upper part of the cupcake, the one with frosting, flip it upside down, and put it on the lower part of the cupcake. There, you have a way to eat cupcakes without getting frosting on your nose!" Y/n smiled proudly. (That trick works like magic, trust me)

"You're weird, stupid, but at the same time somehow you're genius at the same time, Y/n." Maylene chuckled at her friend. "When have I ever been normal?" The young man laughed, his pearly white teeth shining in the sunlight. "By the way, can I ask about that 'Señorito Perfecto' nickname?" Maylene asked. "Justin's been calling me that for a while, just 'cause I'm 'perfect'." He informed his pink-haired friend. "Really? Why?" Maylene asked, curiosity shining in her bright pink eyes.

"He says I'm everything any girl would want. He says I can cook, I like to garden, I'm thoughtful, I'm honest, loyal, and selfless." Y/n shrugged as they both continued to walk. "Not going to blame your brother then. What he says is true." Maylene grinned at him jokingly. "I just hope it's enough to impress this girl I really like." He mumbled, shoving his hands into his pockets. Maylene's once bright smile had turned upside down. She was breaking on the inside.

"What's she like?" She asked, forcing a smile. "Where do I start, she's really pretty, she's feisty, but she can show a soft side too. I think she's way out of my league, no matter how many girls try to get my attention, she'll always be the one I want to be with. The one I want to care for, the one I want to love. If she doesn't love me back, I will remain by her side as a loyal friend. No matter what." He looked up to the sky, which was becoming shades of orange, yellow, pink, indigo, purple, and violet. "She must be really lucky then. She might have already found her future husband!" Maylene joked, to cover up her sadness. "Maybe. I don't know if she even loves me. I haven't seen her in years, yet my heart still belongs to her." He sighed, looking down to the ground.

"I'm pretty sure she'll love you, Y/n. Just as your brother said, you're everything any girl would want." Maylene put a hand on his shoulder. "When you say 'any girl' does that include you?" Y/n looked at his friend curiously. Maylene was flabbergasted by her dear friend's unexpected question, and stayed silent for a few minutes. "I hate to admit it, but yes. I am in love with you too." She looked away, her cheeks so red they could rival Flint's hair. "That's good, cause you're the girl I was talking about, Maylene." He smiled.

"Me? Why me?" Maylene questioned, her cheeks becoming impossibly redder than once before. "I already told you, you're beautiful, you're feisty, you're fearless, but you have your vulnerable times, where you're sweet, caring, and compassionate. That's why I fell in love with you, Maylene. Because you're, you." He smiled softly. Without warning, Maylene smashed her lips onto his. After a second of being zoned out, Y/n kissed back. "I love you, Y/n L/n." She wrapped her arms around his waist, while Y/n just goofily smiled. "Too flabbergasted?" She smirked.

"Of course I'm flabbergasted." He glared at her, nuzzling his head into her neck.
