In the shadow of the city

Y/n and Sugawara were walking and chatting home from school after splitting up with the rest of the team.

When the days have disappeared

The two best friends, thick as thieves, always took their time together walking home, as they rarely had time during the day.

Some might say it's kinda gritty, full of faces to be feared

They went past a few alleyways with some suspicious people eyeing Y/n, which Sugawara glared at until they were out of sight.

But there are wonders that are waiting

They continued on, hand in hand, not a word to be spoken.

Underneath the midnight sky, we got the stars illuminating

"Koushi, look up." That voice, the voice he loved very dearly. Y/n's eyes gazed up at the sky as they stopped at a cherry blossom grove, allowing Suga to take in her lovely features.

Suga then let go of her smaller hand, taking out his music player from the thrift store, played some music, and the lent his other one, offering to dance, which she took.

They danced under the moonlight, both teenagers grinning from ear to ear.

Where no one ever has to hide

The music played, allowing them to enjoy the moment, forget all their problems, and fall even deeper in love with one another.

He spun her around, then pulling her close as Y/n laughed.

Y/n put her head yo his chest, as Suga slowed down, allowing them to start slow dancing. Those butterflies in her stomach would not stop fluttering, and if it beats to fast, Suga's heart might stop beating.

There is a treasure you can find, in somethin' someone left behind

'Who knew getting that music player from the thrift store would end up like this' The silver haired male smiled as he thought to himself.

They danced in silence, not a word needed. Y/n wished things could always be like this, the two of them forever so close. She didn't just want to be friends, she wanted to love him, and he wanted to love her.

It can stay this way, at least until the mornin' light

The song sped up again, causing the two to do the same. In the day, they normally seemed tired, stressed. But in the night, they were as lively ad ever, not a negative thought in the world.

Through the dark, there's someone singin'

Y/n began humming along to the song, after they stopped dancing and decided to take the long way home.

Like an old familiar song

Everyone knew Y/n fell first

Like you fell into a melody that's bringin'

But Koushi fell harder

You right where you can belong

Sugawara wrapped an arm around Y/n's shoulder, letting her lean into his loving touch.

And, there are wonders that are waiting, underneath the midnight sky

Y/n closed her eyes, basking in the moonlight, and living the moment.

By the stars we're navigating

Suga looked up at the sky, thanking his lucky stars for this night.

He then looked down at Y/n who seemed content with the situation.

At that moment, he felt good, but not complete. Not yet. He wasn't satisfied yet.

Where no one ever has to hide

He wanted this to be happening, while she was his. Not Tanaka's, not Noya's, not Daichi's, but his. He was sick and tired of hiding his feelings.

They continued walking, to the point they reached Y/n's house.

Once they arrived, Y/n felt some kind of sorrow when she was about to go in her house. She didn't want to leave him. She wanted to be with him forever, but she hesitantly entered the house.

It can stay this way, at least until the mornin' light

Sugawara grabbed her hand before she could, and kissed her. His body made a decision before his mind could. Oh how lucky he was that she loved him back.

On the top of world tonight

She kissed back firmly. The kiss was like rose petals being pressed together, passionate, yet gentle. They pulled away. "I love you. I love you. I always have." He blurted, out of breath. "I love you too, Koushi. So much more than you could imagine." She whispered, giving him a peck on the lips before retreating back into her house with a small wave.

There and then, he was truly on the top of the world. He walked home, allowing his mother to question why he had such a goofy grin on his face.
