Smut ahead
The sun's first rays danced through the morning air, shining though his window, beckoning David from his slumber. The young man stretched his limbs and swung himself out of bed, ready to tackle the day ahead. As he went about his morning routine, he couldn't help but notice a strange feeling wash over him, he usually never feels this way. He just shrugs it off eventually.
At 6 am, it was time to wake up Harrison, and the two of them got ready for church. Harrison wasn't exactly excited to go, but he knew he had to obey his parents' orders. As they drove to the church, David marveled at the sight of so many people moving towards the grand building. People of all ages, dressed in their Sunday best, making their way up the steps, some with a sense of purpose, others with a playful grin. The children were skipping and playing out front, till their parents called for them to follow inside.
Finally, they arrived inside the church. The walls shone in a breathtaking combination of white and gold, and the doors stood tall, welcoming all who entered. The sight left David feeling a sense of awe – it was the most impressive place of worship he'd ever seen. He might not be a Christian or someone who is catholic, but his parents were at one point going to churches.
Inside, people hugged each other warmly, greeting each other like family. David took advantage of the opportunity, hugging everyone he could. Harrison, on the other hand, remained quiet – he wasn't much of a talker to anyone he barely knew, let alone people he knew they believed in this stuff. David marched towards a front-row seat, eager to hear the priest's words. Harrison follows behind, and slouches down, and hopping it won't last long.
The church was so magnificent and grand that it was hard to imagine anything more beautiful or awe-inspiring. It seemed as if the very walls had a soul of their own, and the stained glass windows were like eyes looking down on the congregation. The priest's voice began to speak, it was like music to their ears – it was as if every word he spoke was a gift personally tailored to them. Harrison slowly started to pay more attention, he didn't know why, but the Fathers voice was so... hypnotizing?
The air was heavy with reverence, and David could feel his soul being lifted up towards heaven as the priest spoke. And Harrison, despite his reticence, couldn't help but be moved by the sight and sound of all the people around them, united in their worship.
The Priest finishes his speech, it was time for communion, people dressed in all white started to go around passing a small cup of juice, and a small piece of bread. Once they all have finished passing them out, The priest does the communion.
"this is my blood, take this in memory of me"
Everyone drinks the juice, David noticed something a little strange about the taste, but everyone else around seemed okay with it, it was probably just his taste buds being a little off. He did have breakfast, so that might be affecting his taste. He shrugs it off and puts the tiny cup on the side. The priest then holds up the piece of bread.
"This is my body, do this in memory of me"
David knew that it was just bread and juice, but he never really got the concept of why they did this, he was listening onto the Bible story about when Jesus had his last supper with his disciples, but it was still kind of an odd tradition, to do when your 'Lord and Savior' basically the night before he dies, has his last dinner. But he didn't want to disrespect anyone, so he just does as he was told.
After everyone puts their cup into the trash, when the ushers take them away, everyone bows their head as the priest raises his arms. Once the father has started, everyone started repeating in unison as if it was some cult - is church a cult? He doesn't know the words so he tries to pretend he knows them by closing his eyes and moving his lips.
