Chapter 7 -Moving on (bad ending)

David slammed the car door once he got to the camp, he rushed inside the cabin to get dressed into his normal attire. He looked at himself in the mirror, and looks down at the carving with the heart and cross. He looks over at the desk and sees the rosary on top of the box that Daniel brought.

David walks over to the desk and sits down, picking up the rosary looking at it. Did he make the right choice? Was he doing the right thing was leaving Daniel all by himself after all that trauma he's been through a good idea? David shakes his head and puts the rosary down.

He gets up and walks outside to see the other campers playing a game, he takes a deep breath in and exhales. He loves the outdoors. He loves camping. He loves working at his job, nothing in the world is more important than his camp. It was soon time for bed, and he put all the campers to sleep. Once he put them all to bed, he goes inside the shower and starts to scrub off all of his feelings.

Every movement he made it reminded him of what Daniel did, how he caressed him with the soap, scraped his hair and his back. Every movement that he made was just another solid reminder of the man that once was behind. He put his head up against the wall and started to cry. He wanted to go back to him, but at the same time he was scared.

He didn't know what to do. Should I go back to the man who loves and risk his life? Or should he stay away and try his best to forget about him and move on. After David hops out of the shower, he goes to his phone and downloads a tinder app. He used to have it, but took it down after the relationship started with Daniel, so he already had a profile.

He scrolled, and never found a single one. That was a good match. He scrolled and scrolled until his spot someone, he looked very handsome, tall, brown hair and brown eyes. David looks at the description of the man.

26, loves to go outside in nature, and loves kids. I would love to find someone who would love to go camping with me

This was it! This was the perfect man David has been looking for! He instantly liked it, and waited for him to respond, a few minutes go by until the man responded.

"Hello there! My name is Jace, how are you doing David?"

The second he saw the text, his face lit up red, having someone who has the same interests as you respond is like a miracle to him. He quickly picks up the phone and started to text back.

"Hi Jace! It's so nice to talk to you, i saw on your profile that you like to fish? I love fishing! And most importantly camping!"

"Really! Would you like to meet up somewhere? I'd love to see you face to face! I'm more of a real life person, just in case I'm not being catfished."

"That's reasonable, how about tomorrow at 8 am? We can meet at the diner!"

"Sure! Sounds great!"

"See you then!"

David close the app and falls into the bed, he smiles in daydreams about how the day is going to go, then his smile slowly fades. He remembers Daniel, maybe this date might help him forget about Daniel, he needs to move on, he needs to find someone else, David sighed and turned off his phone, put it on the side of the table and into the charger. He just off to sleep. Hopefully the next day will be better.

Is the sun was beginning to realize David was already I'm trying to get ready his hair and teeth brushed, he even tried, putting on a new outfit to try and impress his new date. He got his car back thanks to Gwen, he Hops in and drives off. He ran to the diner and sits at the booth waiting for him. He looks around and saw them in the corner of his eye. He turns his head to face him. He's even more handsome in person.

In the back of his head, the little voice says

'He is so handsome, but not as much as Daniel'

David shakes his head and tries to forget about all the noises in his mind. The man sits across from David and smiles.

"Hello David!"

"Hi Jace! It's so nice to meet you"

"Same for you David, you look very handsome in person"

"Oh haha thank you! You do too!"

As they continued to talk, Daniel comes in, and orders to go, he looks around and spots David... with another man?! Daniel's heart shatters, his chest felt heavy. Daniel grips on the sides of the countertop, he places his other hand on his forehead. How could David do this?! After Daniel got his food he spied on them, he followed them around town, after, he noticed them going into the woods?

He followed from a distance, making sure they couldn't see him, they go to a flat spot and pitch a tent. Daniel remembers how David loves camping, and there's only... one tent... Daniel's chest became even more heavy. He sits there watching them laugh and have a good time. Daniel looks at his phone, it's almost 11:00pm He was about to leave, until he heard noises coming from the tent.

"Hey! Stop it! I don't want to do that!"

"Come on David~ don't you want to have some more fun?"

"No! I don't! I don't want that!"

Daniel waisted no time and rushed over, he unzips the text and yanks it back to see the man on top of David, they were both half naked. Daniel's face fills with rage.

"Step... away... from... MY DARLING!"

Daniel grabs the gun from his pocket and places it against the man's forehead.

"Woah woah woah man! Hey look I'm sorry! I was just-"

"You were just leaving yes, now leave, never speak of this, or I'll kill you"

The man nods and runs out with his clothes and gets in the car. Daniel puts the gun away and holds out his hand.

"Darling? Need Help up?"

"How did you... how did you know where I am?"

"Doesn't matter now, lets get you out of here"

David hesitantly grabs onto Daniel's hand and gets up. Daniel wraps David with a blanket and picks him up, putting him into the car. It was a quiet drive, David looks over at Daniel who looked like he has been crying.

"Daniel...? Thank you for... saving me"

Daniel swallows quietly. "No problem Dar- I mean David"

David felt guilty, he hesitantly puts his hand on Daniel's, that was resting on his arm rest. Daniel flinches.

"Why are you doing this David? I thought you didn't want to be with me? Haven't you already moved on with your new boyfriend?"

"He- he wasn't..."

"He wasn't what huh? I'm not stupid David! I saw the way he looked at you David, I saw they way you laughed and held hands and had.. fun..."

Daniel started to cry again, he tries to hold back.

"I thought... maybe if I could try harder.. maybe you can love me... but it seems you have already moved on..."

David sits back into the seat, he feels so guilty, maybe trying to move on quickly was a bad idea, he puts his head in his hands and started to cry, Daniel didn't even flinch, he drives up to David's car parked in the Diner's parking lot. He relaxes as David was still sitting in the car crying.

Daniel sighs and opens the door, he walks around, opens David's side of the door and picks him up. Daniel walks over to his car and opens the door, putting David inside. He closes it, and David rolls down the window, Daniel bends down a little.

"Safe travels home... David..."

"You too... Father..."

And with a tear that ran down his face, David drove off, rushing to get back to the camp, hoping no one could see the tears. Once he got there, it was still dark, he ran into his room and fell onto the bed, crying deeply into the pillow. He hugs it right.

"I'm so... I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry Daniel..."
