David, Gwen, and the rest of the campers were waiting for Daniel and his arrival with his team. David's emotions were running high. As excited he was, he was incredibly nervous. David took extra care to pick out a fresh new t-shirt, tugging it over his head after an extra long shower. He carefully draped the rosary around his neck as well before brushing his hair neatly. He glanced around his cabin for a moment searching for the small bottle of cologne he'd received in a gift basket once. He finally locates it at the bottom of his dresser and applies a generous amount on his shirt and around his neck. Soon after, David enters the mess hall, greeting the campers with his usual enthusiasm.
"Hello campers!"
They all groan in unison. David shakes it off, still smiling. He walks over to his clipboard, jotting down everything he thinks is ready. Gwen's voice was laced with curiosity as she took in her co-counselor's appearance.
"Oh, David, you look... different," she commented, her eyes drifting over his attire.
David felt his nerves start to prickle as he struggled to maintain a confident smile.
"Just getting ready for Daniel- Father Daniel's visit with us."
he explained, attempting to mask the nervousness in his voice. Gwen raised an eyebrow, her expression shifting from surprise to suspicion.
"Really? Since when has something like this so important to you?"
Gwen asked, her tone skeptical. David's heart raced as he felt her scrutiny. He knew that he couldn't keep up the charade much longer, but he was determined to try.
"I just want to make a good impression,"
David's voice still shaky. Gwen leaned in, her eyes searching his face.
"David, tell me what's going on," she pressed.
David hesitated, his mind racing as he tried to come up with a convincing cover story. Just as he was about to speak Max walks over and laughs.
"What's with your... other shirt?"
Nikki pounces and gasps. "I didn't know he had one of those!"
"Neither did I- wait-"
Max sticks his nose in the air, waving his hand toward him.
"Is that cologne? David, did you put cologne on?!"
David nervously laughs, and tried to change the subject to something else. A few minutes later, Daniel arrived at the camp in his Rolls Royce Phantom Series II with adept mastery of the route, as if he had been there many times before. David couldn't help but marvel at his skill, feeling his heart race like never before, his heart beginning to beat harder against his rib cage. He could hear the campers whispering to each other, wondering who had arrived at Camp Campbell in such a luxurious car, but their voices seem to be miles away. David thinks to himself that 'fancy' is an understatement for his car. David's mind was flooded with wonder as he took in the sight of the vehicle. He wasn't an expert on cars, but he knew a good one when he saw it.
The Rolls Royce Phantom Series II was the ultimate status symbol, a prestigious and elegant luxury car made with only the finest materials. It was even customized down to the smallest detail, with gold sparkling around the front, rims, handles, and more, it was designed to perfection. With elegant and sophisticated features that spoke of wealth and prestige. The car's engine was impressive, complementing Daniel's already impressive stature. As Daniel exited the vehicle, David took a shaky breath, noting that the car matched his graceful demeanor perfectly.
"Ah David!" He walks over to him, and shakes his hands. "Thank you for letting me come and talk to your campers"
David blushes, nods, and tries his best to stay calm. Daniel walks over to the campers as they all sit around to listen to Daniel speak.
