Chapter 9

Me and Emily we're so tired after making her project. So I told nathan to come early so we could go out for dinner I was so tired to make us dinner today . He still got late he's been so busy nowadays he seems to be so upset too . I don't know what's bothering him lately. I've tried to ask him what's wrong but he says that it's work load but I feel like he's hiding something and tonight I'm gonna ask him.

Me and Emily are ready and waiting for him to come so we can go and fulfill the hunger. We're starving

We were coming back from the restaurant. Emily felt asleep in my lap. I was looking at Emily while she was sleeping and when I looked in front of us a huge truck was approaching us. "Nathan" I screamed and turned the steering wheel. He stopped the car.

"What the fuck is wrong with you Nathan. We could have died right now." I shouted.
"I'm so sorry honey." He said
"What sorry Nathan where are you lost from past few days. Something's wrong and you're not willing to tell me. Honey I'm your wife if you're going through any kind of shit right now I'm here to help you out of it. Tell me what's bothering you."

He's silent for a moment I think he's gathering words to tell me what has happened. Emily is still sleeping.

He's been silent for a long time now. Is he cheating on me?

"Whatever I tell you it's all on me don't get worried. Okay?"
"Nathan I am getting worried. Why are you saying like that. What has happened?"
"Lily the thing is that I've been getting threats from past few day." He says.
"What the hell!!
What kind of threats and why didn't you tell me about it earlier.why did you hide it from me?" I asked.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't.
I've been getting notes written with blood and those notes say that they're gonna kill me. And they're gonna do something to our daughter.
Today I got a call from someone. They said that they were watching you and Emily when you both were shopping for some art supplies and talking to Edvard uncle they threatened me to kidnap both of you."
"Oh my god!. Why us what have we done. We've been through so much from past year. I can't handle this now. What is happening nathan I'm so scared."

"They also said in one note that I've wronged them and I'm gonna pay for it. I don't have a fucking idea what I've done. I've never ever hurt anyone."

"I know you can never do anything to anyone because you're a good person and I trust you."

I hugged him very tightly. He started crying in my arms. He's so scared because all of this. He's never done anything to anyone. He only minded his own business always I don't know why they're threatening him. Dad told me about some mafia and told me to tell Nathan to be aware of them. What if he has done anything to them and now my husband is gonna pay for it.

"Honey it's okay don't cry. I'm always here for you and we're gonna get through this together. You were with me when I was at my lowest and now it's my turn I'll always be by your side. You're my everything I can't see you like this. You care for us so much that you can sacrifice your life for ours but I won't let you do that. We'll be a shield together to protect our happy family."I said while wiping his tears.

I told him to hold Emily who was still sleeping so that I can drive to home.

I put Emily in her bed and I went to take shower. Everything which is going on right now is getting on my nerve.
I want some time alone.

After taking an hour long shower I saw lily waiting for me in the bedroom. She was sitting on bed with a book in her hands she was reading it. When she saw me she put it aside.

I went and rested my head on her leg. She was running her hand through my wet hair.

I was very relieved at this moment but I have to tell her this. We are gonna go through this together and get over this together.

"When I was putting Emily in her bed I got their message again." I said
"What did they say?" She asked

I showed her the text which said
Unknown:How was the dinner Nathan?

"They are watching us. Everywhere we go everything we do they're watching." I said.

"I gotta tell you something too." she said
"What?" I asked
"Today when me and Emily went to shopping for her project stuff. Some black cars went pass us in a very high speed. I got very scared that time. And when we went to the shop we saw dad and he said that there's is a news going on that Irish mafia are in the town. He told me to tell you to be aware of them"

"Why should you be aware of them. What have you done. Maybe he has done something and we are getting threats for it. He can't let us live peacefully."

"Don't say that honey I'll talk to him tomorrow and see what this rubbish is going on. Don't think about it again and sleep peacefully."

"I can find peace in everything nathan as long as you are with me."

I stood up and cupped her face in my hand. She was so close to me I can smell her fragrance and I can hear her heart beat faster. I love it when she reacts like this to my touch. I caressed her cheek with my thumb. I was looking into her eyes. So deep.

I leaned a bit more closer so now I could feel her breath on me. I kissed her it was a soft kiss with so much love. I pulled back and then I gave her small peck on both of her cheeks then her forehead and at the end on her cute little nose.

"I love you lily."

"I love you too Nathan."

I spread the blanket on us and we slept. We have a lot of fear in us but our love will overcome this too. And whoever this is can never hurt lily. I will never let that happen.
