"Hey, Come on in" my father said opening his hotel room, moving it wide enough for Silver and I to get through.
Although I was still taken back by Silver's previous words. I nodded towards my dad, and stepped into the room. Silver followed behind me.
As I walked in, I recognized your average hotel room. A bathroom on the left located near the exit, across from it you had your closet. Beside the closet a full length mirror was placed on the wall. Beside the mirror stood an office desk, and next to the desk there was a TV placed on a TV stand. And then there was your window and A.C. On the other side, their was a queen sized bed facing the TV. And there sat my distressed mother.
She motioned for me to continue to walk in. And I did. However instead of heading towards her, I made my way to the window and settled to stand there. Silver stood right behind me. And we both glared at my parents.
" Oh, my baby. It's been so long!" my mother said, trying to ignore the fact that I hadn't come to sit by her.
" How are you feeling? " I asked them, my voice was hard.
" We're find darling." my father said, walking to sit beside my mom on their bed.
" Good. " I said, my voice sounding uninterested, I looked out their window trying to avoid their gazes.
I felt Silver's hand on my shoulder, he could feel how uncomfortable I felt.
" So who is this handsome young man?" my mom asked, smiling, as if this whole conversation wasn't awkward.
I glared at her looking away from the window and gave her plastic smile, mocking her own. " This is Silver. One of the high ranking warr-" I began in a preppy voice.
" I'm her mate." Silver said, as if he truly belonged to me. As if I hadn't seen him having numerous make out sessions with Mackenzie.
My parents eyes widened and my mother's smile grew.
" But we're not together." I said quickly bursting their bubble. I felt Silver's hand tighten on my shoulder. And although I wanted to roll my eyes at his action, I wanted more to lean into his touch.
My mother's smile wiped off her face and she spoke truthfully," Isa, we owe you an apology."
My father nodded in agreement, " And we owe you an explanation."
I nodded at them, gazing at them seriously. " Why did you leave me? Why were you never there?" I asked, cutting to the chase.
My mother took a deep breath and motioned for me to have a seat, but I simply shook my head.
" Okay" she paused clearing her throat," So it all started when you were a young infant. Alpha Ethan was doing the command test on you. He'd been doing about twelve newborns a day. All of the other babies obeyed his commands easily. But not you. He tried several times. He'd told you to close your eyes, wiggle your toes, blink your eyes, yawn, cry, laugh, and so much more but you only gave him a blank stare." As my mother spoke, she stared at the ground, almost as if she were afraid to meet my gaze, as if she were ashamed.
" That was when we first figured out that something was wrong with you. Uh-Uh I mean something different about you." She stuttered looking up, her eyes widened.
I simply rolled my eyes, crossing my arms over her chest, " It's fine," I lied. "You can go on."
" Since you were different, the Alpha gave us three choices." My father spoke now. " You were to be killed, or we were to become rouges."
I felt Silver shift from behind me. " What was the third option?" He asked, more anxious than I was.
" All of the members from the pack, were to ignore you, including us. After your first shift, we were told to stay as far away from you as possible. He wanted as little attention directed towards you as possible." My father said, hesitantly looking into my eyes.
I felt a tear drop from my face.
" So that explains it." The moon goddess, spoke in my mind, bittersweetly.
" And so that's what we did. And not only did Alpha Ethan make sure that little attention was directed towards you, he made sure that just enough was aimed towards you as well. This way you wouldn't stand out, either way." He continued.
Their explanations made since, their story made everything add up, except for one thing, " So you chose the Alpha over your own flesh and blood?" I asked them, my eyes full of tears, but my voice hard as stone.
I watched as my parents both stiffened in their seats.
" Honey, he was Alpha. He is Alpha. " my mother pleaded, as if she was the weak one. The one who was being hurt.
" There was nothing that we could do. He's our commander. We trusted, we trust his word. Your mother is right. He is our Alpha. What he says goes." My father said sternly, my father said as if I were the one in fault.
It was my turn to become stiff, however I didn't expect for Silver to become stiff as well.
" Well if he is your Alpha then why don't you return to him. What are you still doing here? " I asked them, my voice completely lacking emotions, as I stared passed my parents, at the wall, unable to look at the emotions that danced on their faces.
" We're here for you. Our beautiful Isabelle." My mother stood up walking towards me. She held her hand up as if she was about to stroke my cheek, as if she didn't just cause me severe emotional pain.
I took a step back from her, colliding into Silver. Although, he didn't seem to mind, since he wrapped his arms around my waist, as if to protect me.
" We do plan on returning to The Cunning Pack, but we prefer that you join us, before we leave. You belong with us, at home. And when we get back to the pack, you'll be appointed to the Head Warrior position, and we won't have to stay away from you. We'll be a family again." My father said, happily, like he'd given me the deal of a life time.
" No!!" an animalistic growl filled the room.
It was Silver, his grip around my waist tightened. And it didn't bother me.
" We were never a family. And we never well be. But as soon as you step back on that territory, we will be enemies. And I will not take a second glance when I destroy the one that you call Alpha. The one that threatened to kill you both, before I decided to save you. " I said my body shaking, and surprisingly, the moon goddess was not begging for control, instead I heard her crying.
Crying over the two people that were supposed to support me regardless off where I was, or who I was. But they stood ally to my enemy.
" Let's go." I felt Silver whisper in my ear, his arms let go of my waist. He placed a hand on my back as he laid me away from my parents. As we headed towards the exited, I stared at my parents, not knowing that this was indeed good bye.
I stared at them as their gazes fell to the ground, both of them too cowardly to look me in the eyes.
So I turned my head, and that was the last time I'd seen my parents.
I closed their hotel door behind me, leaving behind my childhood, my lonely birthdays, and my cowardly parents.
