"Sam!" I scream as he gets pulled under the icy water.

Without thinking I pull my knife from my belt and dive in after him. I can hear Dean call after me, but it's too late. I swim down, quickly reaching Sam. The creature has a hold on his ankle. I reach for Sam. He grasps my hand and I pull myself close to him. I wrap one arm tightly around his torso and reach down with my knife in the other hand. I cut at the creature's arm, causing it to let go with a muffled scream. I kick off from its head, propelling us upwards.

We break the surface and gasp for air. My lungs burn from lack of oxygen and my muscles are constricting in the frigid water. I shove the knife back in my belt as I try to swim back to the dock with Sam in tow. Dean's waiting to pull us up. He drags Sam up and I manage to get myself halfway out of the water. Dean has to help me after that. I force myself to stand up as Dean supports Sam, practically carrying him to the car.

I follow.

Sam slumps against the trunk of the car while Dean digs around in the back seat for something dry for us to change into. I merely stand beside Sam, unsure of exactly what to do. Dean stands up straight and turns to us with three clothing items in his hands: a pair of pants, a men's undershirt, and a pair of short-shorts that clearly don't belong to the brothers.

I give Dean a pointed look.

He shrugs, "It's not my fault she left them."

I roll my eyes and grab them from his hand.

"Here, take this too," he tosses me the undershirt.

I catch it and walk around to the other side of the car. I look at Dean for a moment over the roof of the car. He rolls his eyes at me.

"Fine," he groans and chucks a blanket at me.

"Thanks," I fake a cheery tone and smile over-exaggeratedly at him.

He returns it. I stick out my tongue at him and he retaliates by scrunching up his nose. I drape the blanket over my back to shield me from wandering eyes and change into the clothes Dean found. Dean helps Sam change, and just as I finish getting dressed I hear Dean curse under his breath.

"Sam!" he scolds.

I cautiously walk to their side of the car. I'm relieved to discover Sam's already wearing the jeans from the back seat, but horrified when I see what Dean cursed at. There's a gash on Sam's right collarbone. It's purple and red around the wound, clearly infected and oozing a bit of blood. Realization hits me.

"That's from the creature, isn't it?" I ask, wrapping the blanket tighter around me.

Sam avoids my gaze and Dean glances up at me before looking at the gash again. That's all the answer I need.

"Dang it, Sam!" I explode, "You should have told us!"

I huff and storm back around to the other side of the car. I pick up my pile of wet clothes and drape them over my arm after wringing them out. My shoes are also soaked, so I don't put them back on. I open the trunk and toss my things in before snuggling deeper into the blanket. It's big, brown, and kind of itchy, but it's warm. Luckily the car is parked near some soft grass which I walk on to prevent unnecessary cuts. I pick up the pile of Sam's clothes, avoiding both brothers, but hearing their conversation. As I put Sam's clothes in the trunk and close it I can hear Dean's anger and fear.

"How long?"

"Sometime yesterday afternoon," Sam sighs.

"And you didn't think to tell me?" Dean's voice rises.

"Dean, I-"

"No, just get in the car. We're going to the hospital," Dean won't listen to anything Sam has to say.
