*Suggested Mood Song- "Angel with a Shotgun" by The Cab*
I run down the dark streets, mentally face-palming myself for not bringing a gun, or even a knife, with me. The creature sprints after me, gaining. Even with my knowledge of the streets, I'm slowing down. Soon I'm in the downtown area, which I'm less familiar with. It's also pretty sketchy. Not exactly the kind of place one wants to spend much time in. My lungs are burning and screaming at me to stop. I turn the corner and find myself in a dead-end alley. Just my luck. I press my back against the brick wall and watch the humanoid creature stop and sneer at me. I'm caught, and we both know it.
It takes a step toward me before the small alley is filled with a bright light. I crouch down and shield my eyes. The light separates me from the creature. I can just make out the creature around the light. I hear a gunshot and the figure that was once the predator becomes the prey. It falls to the ground; dead. The light fades, leaving a lone figure behind. He wasn't there a moment ago. He cocks his shotgun, expelling the empty shell. He shifts the gun to one hand as he turns to face me.
He wears a very serious and concerned expression on his face, which seems to fit perfectly with his impossibly blue eyes. He's adorned in a crumpled suit and trench coat. His tie dangles loosely around his neck and his dark brown hair is messy.
He's gorgeous.
He holds out his hand to me. I take it and he helps me up.
"Are you okay?" he asks in a gruff voice that sends chills all through me.
I only nod.
"You shouldn't be out alone," he says.
I don't say anything, only stare. He's still holding my hand.
"I'm Castiel," he says with a half-smile.
Castiel.
