(Dean's POV)

I sit in the bit, awkwardly shaped dentist chair. My leg is shaking nervously. I hate dentists. He comes in with the results.

"Well, Mr. Zepplin, I have a small piece of bad news," the dentist says with a heavy sigh and weak smile.

I just stare at him as he plops into his swivel chair.

"You have a small cavity on the upper left side of your teeth, towards the back," he explains once he's sitting down.

I'm at a loss for words, pin-pricks of fear spiking my hyper-active nerves. The man continues after a moment.

"I can take care of it right now- it shouldn't take too long- and you won't have to worry about it or come back later," he says, waving his hand to the side as he talks.

I take a deep breath.

"Alright," I say, blowing the air out slowly.

"Great. I'll have one of my assistants numb you up," he says, quickly standing and exiting the room.

A few minutes later, one of the cute girls I passed when I got here enters the room. She has a smile on her face and is pulling on a pair of latex gloves. I toss her a weak smile, my nerves drowning any desire to flirt. She lets out a soft laugh and walks around my chair.

"Not a big fan of dentists, I see," she says lightly.

"Not much fondness in my heart for 'em," I respond, looking at the bleak, empty walls.

She comes up on my other side with a swab of some red gel... stuff. I know what's coming next, so I save her the trouble of asking and open my mouth. She sticks the swab between the inside of my cheek and my teeth.

"You really have nice teeth," she says, flicking her gaze to meet mine, "I'm impressed."

I just shrug and smile faintly as she removes the swab. A coldish numbing sensation fills the space where she held the swab. I swallow and the feeling spreads to the left side of my tongue.

"We'll let that sit for a moment. I'll be right back with your shot," she says, getting up and leaving the room.

A soft whimper escapes my mouth and I quickly clear my throat to cover it up. I look around the small room- I don't know how many times- before she comes back. It's only been a minute or two, but it feels like an eternity. She administers the shot, and I must say the anticipation was worse than the actual pain. She leaves again and I wait for the numbness to spread.

Soon I can't feel most of the left side of my face. I lick my lips and flinch when my deadened lip feels no different. The dentist comes in a moment later with another plastered-on smile. He doesn't say much but makes sure my mouth is fully numb.

It is.

He begins the process of whatever dentist crap he's about to do to my beautiful mouth. He turns on one of his drills and the sound alone causes a dull pain to flow through my body and down to focus in my fingertips, making my hands clench into fists. When the drill makes contact with my tooth, I know it. I may not feel pain, but I can feel the pressure of the contact and the vibrations of the tooth being worn down reverberate throughout my skull, filling my head with, not only the movement, but the droning buzz sounding incessantly in my brain and ears. Shivers keep pulsing up and down my spine.

I start humming Metallica- as best I can with the dentist's fingers in my mouth- to try and calm myself.

I walk out of the room to see Sam waiting for me. He smirks at me, clearly on the brink of laughter. I merely scowl at him as we make our way out to the Impala. He doesn't even make it to the car before he cracks up. I grumble as I angrily get into my Baby. The left side of my face is still very numb, and I look into the rearview mirror to see that side of my face drooping more than the right.

I look ridiculous.

I throw Baby into gear and pull out of the parking lot, in a sufficiently foul mood.

I hate dentists. Ugh.
