Her Red

Kevin waited in one of the examination rooms, Peridots poking at him every now and then.

"I'm starting to realize why Peridot left the planet." He said, getting tired of all the testing.

"Relax, once we're done making sure that you're fully functioning, you may return to our diamond." A peridot said, checking his vitals.

"A ball? Hah, no, sorry Auntie Yellow, but I don't do parties."

"Tamara, you have to go. It's not up for discussion, if I had it my way you wouldn't even take a step into the place, but this is coming directly from White Diamond herself."

Tamara let out a groan. She could handle all the other stuff, but.... Parties? She's always hated the fancy ones. Her dad would always bring her, just to show her off to all the rich pompous-

"You're smoking." Yellow commented.

Tamara looked down at her feet, waving off the smoke.

"Sorry.... You know what, if I'm gonna go to this thing, it'll be on my own terms!"

She stopped over towards a communicator, turning it a few times.

"Yes, Lady Tamara?" Netty answered.

"Netty.... Can you bring Pearl here? I need a dress."

*Later on*

Yellow sat at her thrown, impatient with the lack of a red diamond amongst them.

"Yellow, Where is Red?" White's pearl asked.

Red Pearl suddenly stepped out, drawing all the attention to her and Netty.

"Introducing, the vibrant and fiery, Red Diamond!"

A pillar of flames came up from the ground, dispersing to show Tamara. She wore a red strapless dress that hugged her body, with a slit going up the her thigh, showing off her leg. The gems around her did a diamond salute, Yellow ordering her pearl to take a picture.

"Hello, fellow diamonds." Tamara greeted, using her flames to reach a giant red throne the was above Yellow's.

'This is going great! Nothing could ruin this moment!' Yellow thought.

(I already know some of y'all thinking 'Famous last words')

Tamara looked down at the guest, seeing Steven and Connie start to dance together. Instant dread pools in her stomach as soon as she sees his gem glow.

And things were going so well!

Stevonnie formed, Tamara immediately standing up. Why. Just, why did this have to happen now?

"Yellow-"

She couldn't finish, everything going dark for her.... When she woke back up, her head was pounding, and she was locked in a dark room.

"DANG IT!" She shouted.

She paused, turning towards the front entrance to the room, only to see White Diamond walk in with an ominous smile on her face.

"Well, that was certainly interesting. Thank the stars it's over. Did you have fun, Red?"

Tamara froze.

".... I'm not Red Diamond."

"Oh of course not.... And you see, that's simply the problem! So much time spent around those gems has made you soft! But don't worry...."

She grabbed Tamara, lifting the girl to her face.

"I can make you into perfection."

With her other hand, her nails grasped onto the red gem that rested on her throat, Tamara gasping.

Making it up to White's head, Steven let out a sigh.

"White Diamond, we need to-"

He quickly rose his shield, seeing a sight that had all of the gems freezing. A tall red gem stood there, glaring down at the others with a sinister look.

"Pink! How wonderful it is that you could make it! Say hello to Red Diamond!"

Red huffed, summoning a sword from her gem. The gems each pulls out their weapons, White Diamond grinning happily. Finally, something that looked familiar!

Where was Tamara? Picking herself up off the ground, trying to force her vocal cords to work. An arm wrapped around her, helping her up.

"K- Kev...?"

"It's ya boy." Kevin replied sarcastically.

She was lifted into his arms, Tamara whimpering at the loss of her gem.

"Hey, take it easy...." Kevin advised.

He slowly carried her into the room with the other gems, Red Diamond noticing them pretty quickly.

"Oh? Are these more of Pink's pets?" She asked.

White's eye twitched, the taller diamond saying "Yes.... Feel free to exterminate them."

Steven shrieked as the diamond ran towards them. Tamara pushed herself out of Kevin's arms, balling up her fists. Red Diamond slowed down, summoning a spear in her hand.

"Pathetic...." She mumbled.

"You.... Don't get to judge.... Do you seriously not find me familiar?!" Tamara retorted.

Red raised an eyebrow. She stared, looking Tamara up and down- wait. How did she know her name? I mean, she just remembered waking up, White saying something about rebel gems, and....

She lowered the spear.

"White.... When did we get on Homeworld? Our last confrontation was on Earth...."

White frowned, saying "Don't worry about that. Just finish these worthless gems and-"

Red whirled, her diamond aura releasing itself, the other gems falling to their knees at a crushing amount of rage.

Carefully, she lifted Tamara, disappearing in a burst of fire.

"Oh.... Oh well! Pink, now we can finally talk!"

*Elsewhere....*

Tamara coughed, feeling herself placed on sand. She looked around, finding herself in a place with black sand, red crystalline structures growing up from the ground.

".... You're my child, aren't you?" Red Diamond asked.

"Yeah...." Tamara responded.

Red sighed, sitting next to her.

"This planet.... It's my first colony, you know." The diamond stated. "I was so excited. I practically begged for this colony before Yellow finally convinced White to give me one."

She chuckled, smiling at the memory.

".... Are you disappointed?" Tamara asked. "I know that I'm not what.you might've had planned, but-"

"No!" Red cut her off. "Tamara, I will never regret having you. You are my reason for living.... What have I missed?"

"Oh.... Well, Red Pearl has been wonderful. And Netty's doing okay! I just um.... I've been struggling with things recently. Between my power and all that other stuff...." Tamara trailed off.

"Tamara.... I need to make you whole again."

".... I know."

Red Diamond lifted her close to her chest, a red glow covering both of them.

".... Why are you still holding back?" Red Diamond questioned. "Don't tell me you've forgotten what they've done to us, what they did? They see you as Red Diamond...."

Tamara huffed, flames covering her.

"Prove them right, and show them your RAGE!"
