Sleep wasn't something that Tamara was unfamiliar with.... It was a hidden luxury. Nightmares on the other hand.....

"Tamara, you little brat!" A man said holding the little girl by the wrist.

"Papa please!" The young girl begged.

"Quit your whining brat!" The man yelled, a smack resounding through the air.

Multiple blows were dealt to the girl, as she wept, tears running down her face.

Tamara shot awake, rubbing her head.

"If I ever see him again.... I'll kill him." She ultimately decided.

She walked outside, noticing the lack of a certain quartz soldier.

"Netty, RP, where's Jasper?" Tamara asked.

"Gone. I haven't seen her since this morning, my Tamara." Netty said, going back to reading her book.

"She was muttering something about you failing at something before she left though." Red Pearl said.

Tamara instantly thought 'SHE KNOWS!!!!'

She ran outside, rushing towards the gems temple before running into someone. When she looked at who it was, both figures gained surprised looks.

"Tamara?" The person questioned.

".... Kevin?" She said back, the boy helping her up.

"You're.... You're here. I assumed that I'd never see you again!" He said, his mood brightening.

"Yeah, um.... I'd love to stay and chat, but-"

The ground quaking paused her thoughts. The two looked towards the water, seeing the water rise a bit, before she instinctively summoned two javelins. The two saw he issue right away.

"YOU'RE A GEM?!" He all but shrieks.

"Half gem, now focus Kevin!" She yells at him, tossing him one of the weapons.

The corrupted gem looked odd, kind of like a completely slime version of a.... Otter? It had six legs, and was a pale blue coloration. It growled at them, a light blue gem in the shape of a teardrop on its head.

"Okay, so how do we defeat this thing?!" Kevin asked.

"Stab it!" Tamara responded, rushing at the corrupted gem with fire coming off of her feet.

She swung her weapon, the gem leaping out of the way. Kevin ran at it, ready to stab it.... He somehow managed to land the hit.

"Nice work Kevin!" Tamara cheered.

The gem turned to the teen, growling lowly before it suddenly gained spikes all over it's body.

"KEVIN, RUN!" Tamara yelled.

Kevin stayed there, frozen. The corrupted gem charged at him, curling up into a spiky ball. Tamara ran at him, tackling him out of the way, a red glow enveloping them both. The gem skids to a stop using it's claws, looking up to them. Red light forms a female figure, long hair wrapping into a flower shaped bun.

Light brown-red eyes, the same height as Garnet, and she was wearing a red sweater that also acted as a tank top, a hood attached to it. She had light caramel skin, and wore black jeans, a black choker and bracelets attached to her.

The light faded, the new girl saying "Goooooood morning beach city!"

Red high heel boots with black stockings formed on her lower body, the girl grinning.

"I am the AMAZING Kena! To start off our day, let's defeat a corrupted gem!" She said, pulling out a weapon from her gem, a giant red javelin appearing.
