It ain't easy being king just put two bullets in the back of my head please I murmured to myself this is the second time I've had to travel to swiftmane being an alpha is a privilege not a goddess given right I slam my fists down on the desk when my lap top wont give me what im looking for " oh fuck off google" after getting the women and pups settled some of them were not happy I had a chat with the little one I was observing her as she Ate I made a mental note to make sure she sees the nutritionist here she's a meek little thing I throw my head back into my chair " hard night?" Says my beta " don't I fucking know it " he places a cup in front of me and man it smells good my favourite American roast with almond milk " all the pups are settled and women rehomed with a majority of our pack bar one " he finishes " your young pup" I growl at him " what the fuck" I curse " what do we know about her" I asked cyrus pulls out his notepad " well from what I've learned she's a nobody she's quiet and soft spoken" I chuckle " she hasn't uttered a word" I tell him " she squealed when she saw her room" cryus continued " oh so she makes sounds now" I laugh " go on" he smiles " her name is Athena stone she's 17 and from what the older she wolf said she hasn't had an easy life her father is an alcoholic and passive gambler he lost their savings and Athena's inheritance " I breath in deeply " that's not all she goes to school with unexplained bruises and cuts my guess is daddy uses her as a punching bag oh and she's wolfless" I scoff " that's bullshit beat a woman or little girl into submission and they turn inwards , her wolf is hiding" my beta looks at me like he has seen a ghost " I thought you couldn't designate her rank" I put my hands in my hair " I can scent her she smells like cinnamon and brown sugar" I nod " you can't tell her logan she's too young" the simple fact is I know I can't tell her she's my mate it's pack law as an alpha we can scent our mates before they do however if they are not of age we are sworn not to utter a word to them they have to find us when they turn eighteen then it's up to them if they want to mate with us or not " what will you do?" I shake my head " mother can watch out for her guide her and when the time is right I'll tell her in the mean time you'll be her protector and by all means gaurd her with your life " I demanded my beta " it's an honour to serve my king and Queen " Cyrus says " now go home to your mate and pup enjoy the time you have it will be here soon" Cyrus leaves and I finish my coffee I'm just about to leave when I hear the most loudest and blood curling scream coming from Athena's room my mother dash to her " logan go" she yells oh no my mate in her room terrified and I can't do anything or can I?

I see my mother walking out of Athenas room " logan I'll be taking the young pup shopping and yes I know son it won't be easy but give her time to trust you and your men as she has been hurt by the one person who should have protected and loved her" I couldn't agree more this made my blood run hot

" I'll find him and rip him apart I'll start with his testicles then watch him bleed out he dare hurt our mate" Axel spits venomously " calm down axel" I tell my wolf " logan I have a solution to your problem?" My wolf yips " what is it?" I say " well have you tried to be her friend?" I pull a face that makes me look constipated " maybe the reason she's frightened is because of the stories " those fucking stories let's get one thing straight im nothing like my grandfather logan I strive to be the opposite of him good kind and a great pack leader he was the ruthless one I walk slowly to my room which is across from Athena's this is going to be harder than I thought but say less it needs to be done.
