"I'm not an expert...but i think he might be dead."
The blonde turned around to find the other 3 detectives staring at him, more like glaring. "No shit Sherlock. We're here on a murder case, the fuck were we supposed to find, an alive person?" Joshua pushed him out of the way to take a better look at the traces of the body. It had been 6 hours since the body had been sent to the forensic department, they were supposed to send the report back in 10 hours.
"Show me the picture of his hand again." Joshua asked the blonde who was busy looking at the painting on the wall. The brunette sighed and pulled the file out of his grip, looking for the photograph himself.
"It says 'y' right here on his wrist, what does that mean?"
"It means Yoon. As in the mafias." Seungcheol replied crouching next to the splattered blood marks.
"Then why don't we just go question them? You already have a suspect." Jun voiced out the question running through Joshua's head.
Seungcheol sighed, "it's not that easy, we have no proof. Sure we suspect it's the Yoons but we don't have the proof of it."
"How do you not have proof? I'm sure this isn't the first time after all you recognized the mark so easily." Joshua said this time.
"Yes, this isn't the first time but the other times was no different. The cases ended up being closed due to lack of evidence. They have been so good at hiding it, somehow they get away with it every time. We even summoned them to the office several times yet we weren't able to get a confession or an evidence. It's useless."
Silence took over as neither of them knew what to say next. "Maybe this time we'll find something!" The youngest of all smiled brightly as the other three stared at him, wondering how someone could be this happy at 11 in the morning in a dead man's house.
"Sure we will, Seokmin." Jun pat his shoulder and went back to staring at the painting. It had managed to capture his attention since he entered the house, something was so very unsettling about it.
"Come on guys, we need to scatter. Jun and Joshua, you take the first floor. Seokmin and I'll look around here." Seungcheol order as he pulled up his latex gloves.
"Roger that!" Jun said and pulled the brunette up the flight of stairs, the latter refused to put any effort as he was tired from all the travelling already.
"Shua, do you think the Yoons did it too?" Jun asked as he rustled through the man's bookshelf. "Well I mean, Seungcheol recognized the mark so it could be them." Joshua replied busying himself with the wooden study table placed next to the window.
"I think there's a rat."
"Where?" Joshua asked not sparing a glance at the younger.
"Not here. In the department."
"What do you mean? Why do you think that?"
"I don't know, but thinking there was never any evidence? Someone must've erased it. Don't you think? How can someone be so precise with a crime?." The blonde pushed the books back in and sat on the bed that was neatly prepared.
"You're overthinking it, maybe they are just that good. It's our job to find the evidence, not theirs to leave them." Joshua continued to look through the desk, his eyes stopping at the trashcan. He fumbled through the few crumbled pieces of paper looking at each one of them, that's when his eyes caught something. An appointment.
The Ashen bar. September 27, 8 PM. Y.jh
That was last Saturday. And what does y.jh mean. "Jun, look at this." He handed the paper over to the blonde, who read it with indifference. "What about it?"
