It had been a couple of weeks since the Halloween adrenaline rush. Though I was beginning to get worried as we had only one run in with the enemy. It was like they were gathering forces for something major. That and the fact the big boss had to come into my home which I hadn't told anyone about really was giving me panic attacks. -Look I came to warn you, if you pursue this life you will end up like he did same goes for your friends and family I will put you all 6 feet deep- his warning was fresh in my mind though. Should I tell my friends or should I keep it to myself? The questions kept coming into my head as if he thought I was the leader of the group.

"Hey James you doin' alright buddy," Henry would say as he sat down next to me. Patting my back, "You've been zoning out more often since Halloween what's going on,"

"If you were visited by hypothetically the leader of the Wendigos would you tell the others," I said as I looked around to the whole group sitting next to us. Henry didn't say anything though he didn't need to as he placed his hand on my shoulder. "Guys can we talk after the pep rally like in the nurses office," the one place we had been using to meet up since Brook's parents knew our secret and helped us. They all nodded in agreement as we began to focus on the pep rally. Though a familiar presence entered the gym as I looked to see a tall, slender man who was dressed as if an old aristocrat.

He spoke to us in that same voice I remember hearing that night. "Hello young women and men I am glad to come and visit you on this day to show pride in the school I myself graduated from," he said smiling. "I will be there along with you cheering on our football team to win this game and take us to playoffs!" he shouted as kids cheered him on. "Let's win and tell those other teams no matter who you are we shall tackle and bury you 6 feet deep," he said as he looked right at me. I stood up again quickly as others began to stand up cheering on. I watched him walk off smiling though it seemed that it was directed to me.

"Now kids head back to class remember the Thanksgiving Dance is coming up so get your dancing shoes ready," Principal Sootbottom said as the kids went back to their classrooms. I pushed passed the other kids though trying to get a view of the man up close.

"James, James!" Selena yelled out along with Henry as they caught up to me. "What the hell is wrong with you," she stated as she stood in front of me. My eyes were moving passed her face as if she was no longer there. She would slap me hard as I came to and looked at her holding my face where she slapped me. The others just stood and watched.

"Come with me," I grabbed her hand and pulled her along to the nurses office as the other's followed. I spent about 30 minutes explaining what had happened with the lead wendigo. They were bothered and it was showing of course that they were upset.

"How could you keep that from us?" Henry said.

"Look James if he threatened you that is something you need to bring up to us," Brook added on.

"Especially if they threatened our lives as well," Selena stated.

"Guys shut up," Austin said as he turned back towards me, "Now look at me are you positive that man who spoke at the pep rally is the same one who was in your house,"

"Yeah I am 100 percent positive, why" I replied.

"Because that man is Rubius Blackstone," Nurse King said as she spoke in taking a seat, "He's the mayor of our town his family comes from a long line to the founders of the town," she said a bit in shock at the moment.

"Wait so if he's the mayor that would mean the guy with all the political power is a wendigo," Selena stood up as she made a face of looking defeated.

"Yeah which can be very dangerous for us he has followers that have followers hell Oscar always said something was off about him and I guess it just makes sense now," Nurse King stated.

"Whose Oscar?" Henry asked as that was the only thing that caught him off guard.

"Oh that's my dad's name," Brook replied as she laughed a bit. "His name is Oscar and my mom's name is Gladys,"

"Yes, but that doesn't mean we are on first name basis we are still adults," Gladys said as she smiled. "Though we do need to be more careful of our positions right now especially since he knows who we are,"

"I am sure he has eyes everywhere, but I don't think he knows I know who he is mainly because I didn't see his face but that voice and the feeling I got when he was introduced both are the same as it was when he was in my house," I said as they listened. Selena looked to me.

"So we keep it that way we make sure he thinks we don't know who he is, but we can keep tabs on him now after school taking shifts watching him," Selena added.

We all agreed though this was going to be difficult, her and Henry are the only ones who have stealthy enough animals. I mean I could be believable, but for Austin and Brooke this would have to be something they cannot do as their animals are not native to Alaska. I kept over thinking this as the others were talking I didn't even hear them calling my name until...

WHACK!

"Ow what the hell," I said as a strong smack to the back of the head got my attention.

"Well listen dummy," Selena said as she gestured over to Austin.

"As I was saying you three will be doing the shifts me and Brooke we can't our forms are not native to Alaska," damn it was like he knew what I was thinking, "So after school Henry will start first shift, then you James and then Selena,"

"Makes sense putting her on night shift with her night eyes," Henry added on.

We finished the meeting and began to disperse as we made off to class. We spent the day as normal teenagers just hanging out even the occasional nap in homeroom. However, the speaker made a sound like nails on a chalkboard. The kids in all the rooms winced and cringed until a voice broke through.

"You're standing on the fu......ing wire...... just le..... the room," the voice breaking in and out was our glorious leader of the school Principal Sootbottom the students laughed though as they heard him making out a few words that weren't meant to be heard at school. "Alright kids we have received word of a blizzard coming in the next couple of weeks so we are moving the dance to this Saturday alright be sure to buy your tickets and have a great day," once the announcement ended everyone started freaking out. People were talking about finding dates, getting dresses and suits, transportation, the occasional party and who was going to spike the punch. We were on a crunch roll of 3 days to work things out and it was going to be hectic.
