Steve Harrington and his friends were always on the lookout for new and crazy challenges. One day, they proposed a bet to Steve that he just couldn't resist. They dared him to make Eddie "the freak" Munson fall in love with him within a month, and if he succeeded, they would give him $100 as a reward.

Initially, Steve was hesitant to take on the bet. He had never talked to Eddie before because he never had a reason to, and he had definitely had no interest in being with him romantically. But the challenge intrigued him, and he couldn't resist a chance to prove himself to his friends and win some cash even though he didn't really need it.

So, Steve accepted the bet and started his mission to make Eddie fall for him. He went to Eddie's locker every day and tried to start a conversation. At first, Eddie was refusing to engage in small talk and even tried to avoid Steve whenever he could and walking away because there was no way Harrington was doing this on his own accord. But Steve was persistent, and slowly but surely, he started to chip away at Eddie's reluctance.

As the days went by, Steve and Eddie began to have more substantial conversations at Eddie's locker. They would talk about their interests, their home issues, and their dreams for the future. Steve found that he genuinely enjoyed talking to Eddie and began to look forward to their daily chats even though he knew he shouldn't.

As Eddie opened up more to Steve, he found that he liked him more than he thought. Steve began to see Eddie as more than the outcast and freak everyone had labeled him to be. His outgoing, funny, and quirky personality were things that he admired about him and actually enjoyed.

Slowly but surely, Steve started to get to know Eddie, and they started to bond over their love of literature, movies, and music even though there tasted were vastly different he still felt some interest in what Eddie said. They started discussing deeper topics such as goals and dreams. Surprisingly, Steve found himself actually enjoying Eddie's company and realized he genuinely liked spending time with him.

As the weeks progressed, Steve found himself spending more time with Eddie and was inadvertently falling for him. Although he tried to distinguish his real and pretend feelings from the bet, he realized that he was genuinely attracted to Eddie's uniqueness and how different he was from the rest of his friends and he was so confused and didn't know what to do. He wasn't necessarily confused about liking guys, he has known he liked guys at least a little bit for a few years but what confused his was that it wasn't any guy, it was Eddie "the freak" Munson.
