As Steve and Eddie spent more time together, insecurities began to fade away, and they both began to relax around each other. They had started to become comfortable with each other's company, and their conversations were no longer stilted but relaxed and playful.
As the secret attraction between them became more intense, they began to spend time outside of school hours. They would sneak off to each others house or hang out at by the lake. They went on trips around hawkins and spent time together, getting to know each other in a deeper way.
It was clear to Steve that Eddie had become more than a bet; he had become someone that Steve cared deeply about. When they were together, there was chemistry between them that neither of them could deny they would hold hands or kick each other under the table but never verbally said anything.it was a silent communication between each other. That the other cared.
Steve found himself drawn to Eddie's personality and how fun just being in his presence was. He was also aware of the physical attraction he had to Eddie, which took him by surprise he found Eddie to be pretty and nothing could have prepared him for the stupid nicknames and crazy flirting that Eddie does.
By the end of the month, Steve realized he was genuinely starting to fall in love with Eddie and was more than willing to forfeit the bet for the person he had grown to care for. However, the revelations that would greet him after winning the bet would take him by surprise and change more things then he wanted.
