Ena herself was still doing okay,
doing her best
She was ready to get some well-deserved rest,
after another emotionally hectic day
That wasn't going to sway
her good mood
She'd messaged her brother
who was similar to her
and they (secretly) cared for each other
Though they might dislike admitting it,
Ena and her younger brother had charm
and keen wit
They were also very strong-willed
Their hearts deep and fulfilled
with a strong passion for what they loved
to do
They did not tolerate slander towards their own dreams
Not everyone is who they seem
Ena and her brother's individual goals were similiar
to a salamander
They withstood flames -- the flames of others who have mocked
their passions
And they rebirthed their dreams and their passion
for their different goals in life
Ena and her brother was steadfast about their dreams
Although they had their personal struggles, they reflected
on the past
Their sadness and sorrow were not to last
Because they got up
and found themselves again
Ena took out her sketch pad, and started sketching
She decided to stretch the subject of her drawing,
and focused on the form
Her deep glare would not be normal to some,
but it was the look of fierce determination
As sleep tried to take over Ena
she pushed on, motivated to finish
Nothing would satisfy her
more than progress
No matter how slow it was,
it clearly showed
how hard she was working
Eventually, Ena had reached a stopping point,
her sleepy demeanor deciding to appoint
her bedtime
So Ena took a well-deserved break,
and finished for the night
She did not want to put her health at stake
so she chose wisely
While Ena put away her art supplies, her phone screen
had lit up
Already, she felt happy; was it Mizuki?
Regardless, Ena's good mood boosted greatly
Nothing and nobody would tear her down now
She searched for the new message; it was from Mizuki!
Her heart exploding with delight,
a true good feeling revealed in plain sight
Try with all her might,
Ena could not even frown
She read Mizuki's text, and something felt wrong
Something in her no longer felt right
She reread their message, and then something broke
But nothing broke
Was it her?
Ena fought back tears as hard as she could
The pain in Mizuki's text she sort of understood
becasuse they both were hurting
Still, Ena had no idea how bad it could be
but she did not bother thinking about that
Why create negativity when there was no negativity
to begin with?
Ena dimmed her cellphone screen
and covered her face with half of her pillow
She didn't want to be seen
Or heard
If she felt very sleepy a few minutes ago,
it was long gone by now.
