It was nearly mid day,
when Mizuki woke up from their nap
They had fallen asleep,
after making that scrapbook
Their feelings ran deep
But not too deep
Emotions can never be too deep
because that's just how they are
As much as Mizuki was suffering,
they pushed their feelings aside
They were important, but Mizuki refused
to let their feelings define them
And that went for pain, too
Anything in life can be poisonous
-- Too much venom
But there is always a balance of some positive
which mattered more
Mizuki's life had many things in store
For them
like never before
They knew life wasn't always games and fun
but they could incorporate some good in their life
Life itself wasn't always the villian
Anything can become an threat, an enemy,
but deterring from them could be part of the remedy
the healing
bringing good feelings
to one's heart
Mizuki, in the moment, felt like a free man
for now
No more negative thoughts that may take over,
for they would make their happiness lower
and it would be too late
As Mizuki checked their mobile phone,
Ena's reply hit too close to home
It nearly made them cry
but at the same time the heart-touching response
made them want to fly
from her immense kindness
Ena had such a kind heart,
but to Mizuki she seemed as though
she was hiding it away
But that was okay
There was nothing wrong with that
Ena looked sweet and ruthless
but only kind words came out of her mouth
of truth
If only the voices in Mizuki's head
would shut the heck up
Not that it really bothered them,
but as long as no negativity stemmed
then things were alright
Mizuki had no reason to envy others
or their own lives
They believed life to be enjoyed,
but to stay rooted in reality
Nothing is certain in life,
but the way we influence it
can have many impacts
and maybe keep our lives intact
and ourselves
Mizuki opened another text, one from their sister,
Her chilling text making their heart drop in a whisper
She was still abroad in France or at least in Europe,
Mizuki hoped that she was getting recognition soon
Or maybe they were rude
about her many talents
like that vocational school
back in Japan
Their older sister had such a keen eye for fashion,
so their heart ached if she was "rejected" in France
But it was always nice to have an escape from life
and Mizuki was glad their sister was doing well
Caring about her gave them their own escape
from their and Ena's hell
The sun was lowering beyond its line
and Mizuki surprisingly felt fine
They didn't feel as negatively mellow today
Was that a sign of something -- a good sign?
Whether or not it was, they felt happy anyway
Another day -- another day without Ena, but that was okay
As long as she was happy herself, and as long as she was fine
That alone spoke volumes
for Mizuki
Still -- even though Mizuki had everyone's support
Their other friends, Ena, their older sister
Somehow they still felt all alone
Their heart trying to distort
oddly enough -- it did
Mizuki eventually called it a day
Their cute fleece nightgown making them smile
in every way
They lay down in bed,
and instead of crying
they nearly broke themselves
It wasn't just about Ena
It was much, much more than that
Not even Mizuki themselves could explain the pain
That they had
and didn't want to share.
