Chapter 8

You know my brother Brad. He thought it'd be a great idea to invite everyone in my year (year 10) and everyone in his year (year 11) to a New Year's Eve party. Which sounds great at first but not when you realise James and Leah will be showing up! I didn't mind James but Leah always found fun in making my life a hell, right from when I was in year seven. The party was tomorrow.

Me and brad were currently decorating the house with bunting, banners, fairy lights and balloons. The house was looking amazing. Brad had organised one of his football mates to DJ the party. And it was starting at nine pm tomorrow. Mum and dad decided they would go for a weekend away to stay out of our hair and the party!

Sunday 7pm
Molly and Evi had come round early to start getting ready for the party. Sarah was coming in half an hour. Molly was wearing a just above the knee, red, bodycon style dress. Evi was wearing a dark blue maxi dress. And I was wearing a black and silver striped dress that went just to the knee. We all wore flats so our feet didn't start to ache.
Brad came in at 8pm to see what we were all doing and if we would be ready for 9. We were mid through make up. And Brad couldn't take his eyes off of Molly. "Brad!" I shouted for the third time when he finally responded. "Yeah what sorry?" He said. "Give us some space. We'll be down on ten" by now Sarah had also turned up.

Sunday 10pm
The party was well underway and the house was packed. You could barely move. I was dancing in the kitchen with the girls and Brad, Tris and Connor. When I realise I hadn't seen James all night. I started to walk away to go and look for him. "Where are you going?" Molly shouted at me over the music. "Look for James." I shouted back. She winked at me and continued dancing. I struggled through the people out of the kitchen. I walked into the lounge to find some girl vomiting behind the radiator. I couldn't see James in there. So I tried the hallway. All of a sudden I became overwhelmed with the amount of people and felt dizzy. I needed to get some air. I pushed the way to the front door. And stood in the front garden and took a seat on a bench. Evi was by the wall 'chatting with Tris' but we all know what they were really doing. I say for about ten minutes getting my breath back when Connor walked out. He came and sat by me "What you doing out here Mills?" He asked.
"Getting some air" I replied.
"Well I thought I'd let you know that James' in the kitchen. He was asking for you."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah!"
"Ok. You go back in. I'll be there in a few seconds". James was asking for me. James wanted to see me.
