Thanks for coming back!💘
Lia's Pov:
"So are you ready to go my love?", Mom asked.
I took deep breaths before I began forming sentences again, "Yes. I think so", I exhaled warm air.
Their faces lit up at my answer. The joy and content in their eyes radiated jovial thoughts in me. I hugged them just to feel that warmth again.
Mom rubbed my back, "Get going baby, you're getting late!", she whispered in my ears and smooched a kiss on my cheeks.
"For real. Lia, stop this emotional play and rush!!", Jordan screamed in my ears, I flinched and we all giggled.
"Okay guys, I'm gonna head out now", I waved and walked out, holding my phone in my tight grip. I grabbed the car keys on my way out and unlocked the door of my car. The dress gave me a hard time while I tried getting in my car but Alas, I pushed myself in. I fastened the seat belt and pulled the gears, taking a quick look at my Lock Screen in hopes of any new messages from Jay. There were none but the previous messages hadn't left my mind. I giggled at my stupidity and rode into the main road, my tyre made a rough screech as I made a turn into the highway.
The whole ride was just me looking at my phone and giggling like a clown. My heart throbbed just at the thought of meeting Jay. I had never felt this way. It was bizarre but I liked the feeling of it.
I glanced at myself in the rear view mirror, fixing my hair a bit, checking if my gloss needed any reapplication, if my nose needed some powder but surprisingly, my makeup was as good as new.
I grabbed my phone and unplugged the seat belt, carefully squeezing my dress out of my car. I stood up at the venue and it was marvellous, grandiose and absolutely luxurious. The event was happening at a huge club that was fully decorated with flowers and fairylights but they looked way more expensive than the usual ones. There was a swimming pool that I could see across the small lawn outside the club. Music was just as loud as I had anticipated and there were people with wine glasses in their hands, dancing to the rhythm of the music and swaying hips with their partners and friends.
I stood gaping and re-thinking my decisions. Why did I even agree to this. My palms began to form sweat again, my heart started racing faster than the pop song playing inside. I started having trouble breathing when a female voice called out for me from a distance.
"HEY!", Flora shrieked, walking out of the club towards me with a glass of champagne in her hands. She wore a bodycon that was made up of a glittery fabric, knee length supposedly. Her hair was tightly held up in a ponytail that swayed side by side when she walked. She looked charming as always.
I smiled at her and raised my hand as a gesture of saying hello. I tapped my feet while Flora walked towards me swaying her hips and throwing her arms in the air to the rhythm of the music.
"YOU MADE IT!!", she yelled and hugged me, "And Oh My God, you look stunning Lia", she shrugged my shoulders and exulted in excitement. Her eyelids shimmered at me.
"Thank you. You look amazing too!", I whispered softly in her ears. Her makeup looked somewhat smeared, probably from all of the drinking that caused her to be reckless with her face.
I could smell the foul odour of alcohol from under her breath. I didn't like the smell of it. I despised it actually. Unless a situation called for drinks, I made sure to keep my distance from it. The smell just sent icks down my body but I pushed the disgust away and smiled.
"Cmon, don't be a moron. Let's go in, I was getting bored alone anyway", she squealed in my ears and pulled me out of the parking lot. I gritted my teeth and followed her lead. She dragged me in the most gentle yet powerful manner. I stumbled quite a lot until I entered the club's hallway, just a few feet away from the grand entrance.
I looked up and down, back and forth, all across, just in awe of the glamorous arrangement.
"So damn fancy", I muttered under my breath but somehow, loud enough for Flora to hear it who waddled on the floor.
"I fucking know right!", she winked at me while she tried to get a good grip for the both of us.
The eyes that turned at me as soon as I walked in, Uncountable.
Every present person at the club just turned their heads to look at me. A gulp formed in my throat that caused me to cough.
"Damn the looks on their faces", Flora muttered and smirked at me while I stood there trying to not die of embarrassment.
I had no idea why they were ALL looking at me. It was not a look of disgust, neither a look of disappointment so what was it? I pondered. Maybe jealousy and admiration? That was new. It haunted me knowing that it was true. They really were staring at the beauty of my dress and the makeup which meant they were staring at me. I was grabbing actual attention?!
