Thank you for coming back!💘

Lia's POV:

"Hey?", Jay snapped his fingers.

"Hey yes", I chuckled, "I'm sorry, it's just too overwhelming for me", I scoffed while walking into the bar area. Jay understood my gesture and pulled out the seat underneath the countertop for the both of us.

The bartender looked at me and smirked, "You need something Ma'am?", he politely asked while pulling tricks with the shaker.

Jay hopped in, "Yes! Two mocktails?", he raised a brow at me.

I giggled, "Not too strong please".

Jay chuckled, "You heard her", he motioned at the bartender.

The bartender winked at us,"Coming right up!".

"I don't really like drinking honestly but.."

The echoing voices of the crowd hadn't stopped and it made me sick hearing Ryan's name, invading my ears. I felt disgusted.

"Sooo...", Jay initiated a conversation when he saw me juggle my pendant in anxiety.

I looked up at him, "Soooo?".

He chortled, "You really surpassed everyone here!".

My cheeks turned crimson and I tittered at his compliment, "You're too kind. It's just my mom's stuff", I said while rubbing my hands on the black marble countertop.

Jay pulled his chair towards me, "That makes it even more awesome", he lifted my chin up.

"You know Lia, I've never umm", he stuttered, "I've never really had good friends my whole life. Either they were a bunch of busted kids who would get into trouble all the time and would make me cover for them or really fancy people that made me feel like I didn't belong", he shifted his focus on the countertop while scratching his palms.

"Same with this job. Everyone here is just so over their heads that they think it's okay to just be impolite. They're so discourteous, especially towards the new-comers", he gritted his teeth, "I can't imagine how you must've felt yesterday, HECK I almost wanted to quit on my first day", he broke into a grin.

I chuckled at his last sentence, "You know, it wasn't so bad", I looked into his eyes, "You and Flora made me feel like I belonged!".

Jay let out a smile.

I rubbed the back of his hands, "Thank you! It was an amazing first day".

"So does this mean the second day was awful?", he furrowed his brows and bit his bottom lips.

I clucked, "I mean....".

"Don't finish that", he held his palms up.

I chuckled.

"Here you go amazing lady and Sir!", the bartender slid two glasses of mocktails on the countertop.

Jay picked it up for the both of us and handed it to me, "Cheers Lia!", he clinked our shots.

"Chee-",

"Wait- IS THAT", Jay interrupted me as he stood up from the chair, looking behind me.

"Is that who?", I asked, being confused at his sudden movement.

"Sir Ryan!", Jay screamed passive aggressively.

The crowd had shifted their way towards the main bar area and Ryan's name was in the air. The intense screaming and cheering for that man made me filled with vehemence, disgust and terror.

I froze. The shots of mocktails in my hands turned warm against my rage and fear filled blood. My heart rate immediately rose, I could feel it beating in my ears. Sweat started dripping down my cheeks.

I turned my head just a bit to watch where Ryan was actually moving and thankfully, by the time I had seen him, he had almost made his way to the vip lounge.

Jay jolted my shoulders, "Lia let's get you to meet him", he insisted while I tried to fake a smile to hide my menacing thoughts.

I nodded, "Just in a few minutes, I kinda need these shots". I screeched out as I held my arms up at the bartender, "Can I get some vodka?".
I was hesitant but I couldn't think straight. It felt like something had possessed me, forcing me to gulp liquor. I wasn't me in that moment.

Jay nodded and sat back with me as I gulped the whole drink at once.

"Woah someone's in a mood today!", Flora shrieked from a distance.

I didn't wanted to turn my head back because of the fear that had inherited me. I wanted to maintain a low profile for the rest of the night.

"Hey! I was looking for you", Flora patted my shoulders when she finally walked upto me.

I looked at her, "I'm sorry but the pool was too crowded and I couldn't-", I sighed.

Flora sat between me and Jay, "It's okay, you must be overwhelmed", she rubbed my chin.

I pressed my lips, "Another shot please. This time, make it stronger!", I called out to the bartender.

Jay raised his hands, "Hey, already?".

I nodded and let out a grin.

Flora hopped in, "One for me too!".

"Well let's drown in drinks then", Jay muttered to us, "Three here on the table!".
