The Vytal Festival was here, and Ruby could not take her eyes off the tournament. Every time one of the Sanctuary men fought, someone went down. There was almost no point in the tournament in her opinion, because they were defeating the competition in less than a second. The other fights were a lot more entertaining because of it as well. The start of the tournament had everyone go in teams of four to fight another four. Well, Manigoldo decided four on four was too much, so he was the only one that fought. Instantly after, the four of the opposing team collapsed.

They weren't the only ones doing that well though. The haven team -- the one with Thanatos, was doing equally as well. Not a single opponent had scratched them, not even with a bullet, Thanatos announced such in his previous match, which made him sound overwhelmingly arrogant.

Ruby's team had been lucky to face off against just normal people who don't have speed semblances. Because seriously, it was like everyone had speed semblances in the Haven team and in the Sanctuary team.

Something did make her nervous though, after winning the previous bout, Ruby was definitely going to be put up against the Haven team with Thanatos and Hypnos, and if it was possible she would like for that not to happen. But there was simply no way she was winning against them. They were on the two versus two part of the tournament now, and even then, only one of the members of the Sanctuary team or the Haven team ever needed to lift a finger, and most times it was just moving that finger.

"Don't be so nervous sis. You both have speed semblances, so it'll be a-ok!" Yang tried lifting her spirits, but it wasn't so easy. Ruby couldn't even see her opponent's move last fight. All she saw were flashes of light and blurs. There was no telling what would happen in the match, but she was confident she would not have the ability to dodge or react to the strikes.

Ruby needed a plan, she had to think outside the box. Holding her head, she tried to think of something that could be done to give her an edge over the Haven students, something that would allow her to win.

"Remember what Gin always told us," Weiss stepped forward and smiled, "Forcing yourself to think outside the box, will have  you stuck inside one." She put her hand on Ruby's shoulder and smiled, "Sometimes the best solution is the one that sounds the simplest."

"If that doesn't work, we could always try again in two years. We're still second year, which means we could try again in our last year if we lose today. There's no pressure." Blake's reassuring stare made Ruby nod, they were right, there was no need to be so nervous about it.

She nodded.

A dark feeling came across her. Shivers went down her spine. The gaze of someone was stuck on her, she felt it so. Turning around, she tried to look for whoever it might have been but found no one. Her sister expressed her worry again, but Ruby told her she was alright.

Someone was watching her. She could feel it.

Between that and the pressure -- although lessened -- from the incoming fight, she had a lot of things to worry about.

She heard footsteps that sounded like they came from someone with medieval armor. Turning her head to the side, she saw one of the many Sanctuary men "Phew, good fight huh?" Manigoldo rolled his shoulder, there was not a bead of sweat, his golden armor was gaudy and Ruby didn't understand why they would voluntarily wear something like that. It practically glowed with all the sunlight it reflected. "Came here to keep an eye on you rascals. Because apparently you lot can't take care of yourselves, go figure."

"Manigoldo, do you ever take anything seriously?" Weiss asked, crossing her arms. Her ice queen persona is showing. Manigoldo stared at her with an eyebrow raised and with a wide smile.
